“I found the food here most enjoyable, much better than the sort of curries you can get in places where good flavour and texture are replaced by salt, sugar and hot spice all put into something more like a porridge. Also great in this small restaurant was that one of the main guys there was very pleasant and easy to talk to. Under new management and ownership, with now a great atmosphere in a wonderful location, a short distance from East Croydon Station, with lovely welcoming staff, a brilliant catering team preparing amazing Afro-Caribbean Food. “Came to this restaurant with my daughter for the first time, the food was delicious especially the lamb bhuna and the coconut rice. The prawn puri for starter was the best I had tasted. Big portions and very tasty food. Staff were very nice and the restaurant was lovely clean and calm. Very reasonably priced and even offered a complimentary shot of baileys. All customers appeared to be regulars in there. Would definitely go there again. Thank you for a lovely evening.”

“Popular location with good ambience inside.Service was very quick (midweek dinner). Staff were great. Food taste and quality - great Though it's expensive, the quantity of the food is larger than other places to justify Samosa chat - 5*s Kerala fish curry -5*s Desi chicken curry - 4*s Chilly chicken - 4.5*s Butter and Garlic naan - 4*s Fruit juices were just good enough. Staff were so lovely to offer a small cake on my wife's Bday along with a candle on it. Highly recommended restaurant.”

“I was surprised at the lower reviews. I have ordered takeaway lunch twice. First I had iddyuppam, the only slightly negative comment I can make was that aubergine portion was pretty small. Yesterday I ordered chicken kottu rotti and chicken curry, both were super tasty and I'll definitely be returning.”

“First time using Ranna Ghor. We had one issue - received chicken Tikka Masala instead of paneer. I called the restaurant and they were genuinely sorry and very apologetic and got us a replacement promptly. How they react to a problem is often how I judge a place and this was good customer service. As for the food... excellent all round and we will definitely use again. Impressed!”

“Allahummabarak food was TOPS! A*****! If I could give this a 6 stars rating I would. I collected the food and was piping hot, their biryani and dhaal especially never fails to surprise me, best dhaal I’ve ever had. I also ordered some butter chicken, korma, the jalalis special and one of their prawn dishes, everything was bursting of flavour, and you could taste the uniqueness in every dish, food was fresh and cooked in the time I desired, would definitely order again, thank you.”
