The Cinema in the Arches
“Went to see avatar. the cinema was brilliant lots of leg room. the seats recline and they have a little table for your snacks. The staff are super friendly. Great access for wheelchairs.”
Phoenix Cinema London
“Britain’s oldest purpose built cinema delivers every time. We watched Nomadland here yesterday and some films are just made for the big screen. So much crying in the dark. The top floor bar is sadly still closed. But the process felt very Covid safe and well organised. Staff are always lovely.”
London School of Dramatic Art
“I studied at this school in the advanced program and I am very happy with my experience. There was a family feel and I felt very supported while the teachings were of high quality. Some of our teachers also taught at some of the big drama schools and we were lucky to have them with us. The staff was always helpful and responsive. The year I spent there was one of the best times in my life and it prepared me very well for the demands of a professional acting career. I would recommend it to anyone!”
Ace Cafe London
“As ever, bloody brilliant. Really good food quickly served. Staff are friendly, engaged and polite. It's always clean and there's always a friendly bunch of people there. Lots of bikes out front and the Ace seems to have the ability to knock away the armour of the typical Londoner to the point of friendliness - especially if the conversation is about a nice bike in the car park.”
Premier Inn London Elstree / Borehamwood hotel
“I stayed at Premier Inn Elstree Boreham while my husband was in hospital. I spent 9 nights in that hotel. It was a very difficult time for me, but the staff were very kind and so helpful, they made my stay very comfortable. They received parcels for me when I was not in. The dinner I had there was well prepared. The restaurant service was very good. I will definitely stay at Premier Inn again, it was affordable, clean, comfortable and safe when I needed just such a place. Thank you to cleaners, receptionists, bar and restaurant staff, maintenance etc, you all played your part to perfection.”
Empire Cinemas - London Haymarket
“Great cinema experience, easy to book via website. Staff were friendly and seats gave brilliant view. Fabulous surround sound”
University of the Arts London, Camberwell College of Arts
“I could not have asked for a better space to do my MA (Illustration) at. All the teaching staff that I interacted with were always very helpful, encouraging me to develop new lines of inquiry everyday. The fluidity of the curriculum altered my perspective about Art and Design in many, many new ways. Thank you for everything that I learnt(and un-learnt) during my time with you.”
SAE Institute London
“These past two years have been amazing. I have been studying animation and game art at SAE and it was awesome. Our lecturer Amil was amazing with the way he taught us about animation, by actually going though our works and helping us where we needed. even though half of our time here was spent at home and we could not go on campus because of covid, he still gave 110% to each of us. Even when it was outside of lesson and it wasn't about the course work. he is a really down to earth guy who is passionate about the games industry. if anyone want to get into the animation/game business, i highly recommend coming to SAE London.”
Pop School & Stage Academy - PSSA
“All 3 of my children absolutely LOVE PSSA! The classes are varied, engaging and fun- The children always finish on such a high after class. We have recommended the school to all our friends! The staff are so friendly and welcoming too. We are so glad we found PSSA! Thank you ❤️”
The Prince of Greenwich Pub
“Bf told me this is his favourite pub in England. Finally had a chance to visit this place with him and I must say, it's pretty good. Welcoming owner who immediately warm-heartedly greets you with "welcome home" (on the way out of the pub, I notice the sign at the entrance that also reads "welcome home"). Nice atmosphere and great lighting. The eclectic decor is a feast for your eyes. Staff got one of our orders wrong but that's ok, we all make mistakes sometimes. Didn't have to wait long for our actual main to arrive. Hope to visit this place again when they have the live band playing.”
Regent's Park Open Air Theatre
“Saw 101 Dalmatians here and it was delightful. The theatre is actually much bigger than we thought, sitting at the back you can’t see the facial expressions of the actors and you feel a bit far away from the show. Watching from the front is a totally different experience and well worth the money.”
Screen25
“Love this place. Great cinema, shows a good mix of films and has really welcoming food and great pies too! Go for the films and the pies!”
Barbican Centre
“Barbican is a great place for people who appreciate arts and other entertainment. It will always have something interesting going on, and you’ll always find something with free entrance as well. It’s definitely one of my favourites places to go in London. The architecture in the place it’s also super impressive and never fails to please with the aesthetic.”
Two Temple Place
“Amazing building very well renovated mid 20th century done with amazing craftsmanship They do expositions and free entrance definitely worth to walk in”
Kingsland Locke, Dalston
“Had the opportunity of staying here for my birthday! Lovely staff(shoutout to Flynn). Lovely place. Easy to find from the nearest station. Loved the room aesthetic, looked exactly like how I imagined it. A bar/restaurant on ground floor which I loved! Great food. Would highly recommend and can’t wait to come back again!”
The Cinema at Selfridges
“Very Beautiful and Stylish little cinema hidden away in Selfridges. Me and My partner have been many times and love it there ! Today we had issues with quite possibly the rudest bunch of kids ( + 2 adults) on planet earth. Talking, shouting, throwing food, Watching videos on their phones and to top it off They kicked me and my partners chairs on multiple occasions. We ended up walking out early. The staff and the manager were super lovely and apologised for our bad experience. The manager had spoken to the 2 adults on multiple occasions but they would not control the Kids. We got a full refund and will definitely be back as the cinema and staff are lovely.”
David Lean Cinema
“Wonderful small cinema with comfy seats a great little selection of well priced food and drink to take in with you. Feels like a real community of people with an appreciation for film and using the screenings as a way to socialise and chat about the film afterwards. An absolute asset to Croydon.”
ArtHouse Crouch End
“Charming venue, amazing vegan and veggie food, delicious cocktails (at a very honest prices) and lovely staff members! Great place to study and do some smart working too as music isn’t loud and the vibe is perfect!”
Everyman Broadgate
“Lovely cinema, comfy seats, intimate setting and a lovely oasis near my workplace to watch a good film, in this instance 'The worst person in the world' The staff are accommodating and friendly and the food and drink is a solid standard.”
artsdepot
“Regular visitor to the Artsdepot and a big fan given the variety and quality of acts appearing. Really enjoyed the Michael Palin review of his Iraq and N Korea adventures! A venue to recommend if you want intimate theatre in a central location.”
Whirled Cinema
“A straight 5 stars from me! A nice venue with everything I needed for my test screening. We had a great time.”
Curzon Mayfair
“A fabulous place to go see a movie, Screen 2 very intimate setting, comfortable atmosphere. Screen 1 bigger auditorium but still a good viewing standpoint. You can take food and drink in from the bar area. Such a shame there was a Petition up calling it to be designated an Asset of Community Value to stop its closure! It’s one of London’s oldest cinemas. Would be a sad day if the cinema was to be made into a bigger club venue next to the existing attached restaurant and bar.”
Rich Mix
“I attended a film festival at the Rich Mix this week and the personal was really cool. The mood of the place is vintage and the underground is really nearby. Great experience.”
Pineapple Dance Studios
“Easily the best dance studios in London and probably the World. Have been sending dancers to classes here for over 20 years. Great friendly and edgy atmosphere. All studios with mirrirs, barre, sound systems and pianos. Varying sizes across 4 floors. Literally every type of dance class from beginners ballet and jazz to West end companies and reggaeton. Studios can be hired for very reasonable prices but they are busy. Classes range in price and you can join as a member. Highly recommended.”
Watermans Arts Centre
“Saw an amazing performance by the Deaf artist Chisato Minamimura. Had a super Lamb Madras at the in-house Guru Canteen washed down with a few pints of Cobra. All staff I encountered we friendly, and the venue had a really nice, relaxed vibe.”
Curzon Bloomsbury
“I've only been the once, in one of the small screens, but I would definitely go again. They show niche films that might not be showing anywhere else, and the atmosphere is cool and intimate. If I had to nitpick, the fridge had JUST been installed, so my Coke was only slightly chilled. A minor blemish on an otherwise good experience.”
Curzon Camden
“A great experience. I would agree with most reviews - it is a unique set of spaces - very imtimate, comfortable, well designed and the food/drink is good. With their membership deals it can be incredible value compared to a chain cinema - a cocktail here, delivered to your personal little table, costs the same as a fizzy drink there and the viewing is cheaper and far, far more comfortable (wide, slightly reclining seats with loads of leg room so people can pass you easily). Not sure if the cosiness/screen proximity would be a good thing for the occasional blockbuster they show but I can't wait to find out. As a local, I feel lucky these guys have moved in and hope lots of people get to enjoy their really excellent offer.”
