Reviews
"#artsdepotfinchley #barnetdancefestival I wanted to share my recent experience at the Barnet dance show. The venue itself was impressive, with its cleanliness, size, and beauty. However, my family and I had a terrible time. The venue only provided one ticket per family to see our children perform, which meant only one parent could attend. We were fortunate to obtain extra tickets from our school, as the venue was not helpful in this regard. When I contacted them for an extra ticket, they told me to be realistic and put me on a waiting list. My main issue was with the lack of filming allowed. Although the presenter had given some guidelines, the venue should not have acted the way they did. We paid £10 for each ticket, but we were not allowed to film our own children dancing to share with those who couldn't attend. The presenter had mentioned that we could access the video taken by the venue, but she did not mention the cost. She made it sound like it was free, but I am sure it is not. The aggression towards parents trying to take pictures was very upsetting. The venue assistants were flashing their torches at them as if they were criminals. I saw a man in front of me holding his phone and sending messages, and they were flashing on him like crazy. He didn't even know what was going on. When the flashlight didn't work, they disrupted the whole line to send a message to the middle to stop using their phones. We were unable to enjoy the show because the assistants kept flashing their torches on the parents throughout the whole time. Was the income from the tickets not enough? At the end of the day, we were all customers, and the venue should change its attitude towards us. It was a sad experience, and I hope they will make some changes. To the kids: "
"Always an enjoyable experience attending productions at The Artsdepot. The theatres are laid out well. Seats are comfortable and the facilities are top notch. I mainly attend the family productions, which are always a treat. And always as good as the west end productions. All very child friendly. The cafe is well stocked and accessible with buggies and prams. The coffee is delicious. And plenty of baby changing and feeding areas. I now prefer to wait for a production to come the Artsdepot then travel into town."
"It's great place to view performance. Cafeteria is available here for quick bite."
"Regular visitor to the Artsdepot and a big fan given the variety and quality of acts appearing. Really enjoyed the Michael Palin review of his Iraq and N Korea adventures! A venue to recommend if you want intimate theatre in a central location."
