Leanne Edwards School of Theatre Arts

The teachers are great with the children and patient with us adults with all our questions! It's been a difficult year through covid restrictions but the school has kept the children engaged and moving and have always put the childrens safety first as everyone is now back together. We highly recommend.”

Stagecoach Performing Arts Leatherhead & Bookham
● Open“I have nothing but praise for Stagecoach Leatherhead. Allison and her team are truly fantastic, dedicated and passionate. They are inspiring teachers who make sure that all children achieve their potential and have a great time doing so. My elder daughter was with Stagecoach Leatherhead for 8 years, my younger daughter is still there. It remains the highlight of her week! She has come on leaps and bounds in confidence, musicality, dance skills and acting skills. It is a school that caters for all abilities, from aspiring already talented performers to those with special needs, who may need a little more help and as such is truly inclusive.”

Sadler's Wells Theatre
● Open“Superb experience. We had the pleasure of seeing the Birmingham Royal Ballet's production of Don Quixote for my nans 80th birthday and we all enjoyed it immensely. From the dancers, set, costume and orchestra, it was all wonderful. The theatre itself was great. Very easy to get to.The only niggle would the be ladies toilets. There was a queue every time and it would be great if they had more toilets to reduce queues. But that's an absolute tiny niggle because the queue moved quickly. All in all, a fabulous experience.”

The Playground Theatre
● Closed“I saw James Purdy's 'the Paradise Circus' on Saturday 20 October. Wowza what an experience. This is a beautiful, powerful redemption story. As you watch it in the round, with a magical circus setting, you are pulled into 1920's small-town America. The hugely talented cast give strong performances and sing and play musical instruments. If you are a fan of early jazz (the Chicago Migration movement 1904 to 1930) you will adore The Paradise Circus music. It was composed by Darren Berry - of Penguin Cafe fame, he also performs with Salim Sai. Children aged 10 years+ will be enthralled by this play. DON'T MISS IT!”

The Place
● Closed“I have been The Place in total of 3 times, I like it. Its canteen is very reasonable and comfortable. Very close from Euston station. It is a bit difficult to find if you come from Kings Cross, but it is just next to Premier Inn of Duke Street behind a big church you can see from just outside Euston station. The theatre is a good size, easy to see from front row to middle row. I never sat at the back so I am not sure but I imagine it would be also good view. The theatre is a pit style so the stage is lowest and seats are going up gradually. Only thing I do not like about the location is that Euston Road is so heavy traffic all the time so it is frustrating to cross the road. Need to cross about 4 traffic lights to get the place from the station. And some traffic lights do not change for long time even there is not much traffic. With a child , it gets me nervous each time. They do an open day around the end of July every year, we went only once but that was totally inspiring and fun. My daughter learned about Maddy Ziggler from that day. We also saw a beatiful dance + theatre , a story about “a fish is getting so big to eat the world”. That was very good. We should have more shows like that for kids ( something not a Christmas panto, not just a comedy but inspiring / beautiful, not too expensive and most importantly not too long!!!) But many workshops looked like mostly for under 6, so my daughter might be a bit too old now. I went to see Zoonation Academy's Christmas show the other day here and it was excellent (I did not have any relatives or somebody I know in the show). Highly recommend it !”
