Located on St Mary's Way in the heart of Chesham, The Elgiva Theatre is an established institution with a rich history spanning over 100 years. Originally built in the early 1900s, the theatre has undergone several renovations over the years to keep up with changing times and evolving tastes.
Today, The Elgiva Theatre is a modern and well-equipped establishment that features two performance spaces - the Main Auditorium and The Studio - both designed to cater to a range of events and audiences. Whether you're looking to catch the latest musical or comedy show, attend a play, a dance recital, or even a lecture, we offer a diverse line-up of performances guaranteed to satisfy your cultural cravings.
In addition to the live performances, we also have a 300-seater cinema that screens the latest blockbuster movies, art films, foreign language films, and more - ensuring that there's something for everyone to enjoy. Our cinema is equipped with state-of-the-art sound and video technology, ensuring a high-quality viewing experience for all.

"The Elgiva is a local gem . They get up to date acts and many performances. The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The Tribute Bands are a favourite. There are films to suit all tastes. The theatre is spacious and there is space for people in wheelchairs and space for people who have walking sticks. Assistance for everyone who needs extra support is available. Seat prices are around £20-00 . Depending on what you are going to see. The Box Office is open at 10-30 in the morning. The Elgiva has a small seating area and a nice Café on the premises. This is open Monday to Friday 10-30 - 3-00 o'clock. The Elgiva has a carpark with additional carparking available nearby in the Star Yard carpark. The Elgiva is on the opposite side of the road to Sainsbury's. I have been to a few performances with friends. I enjoyed my day and evening in the theatre. If you are in the area,the Elgiva is worth a visit. Very nice place."
