“First experience of dining here. Was taken by my daughter and her hubby to be as a "treat". Was greeted immediately upon entering by a friendly face and shown straight to our table. Menu's were immediately provided with drinks orders taken efficiently. The courses, from starter to main, were absolutely delicious! Cooked to perfection and nicely presented. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Would absolutely love to return and DEFINITELY will given the opportunity. Highly recommend!”

“As an experienced diner who regularly eats at Al la Carte restaurants every Saturday evening I was lucky to come across Giacomos when searching for somewhere different to try. Crisp white linen table cloths were greatly appreciated as so many restaurants think it is trendy to eat from formica tables despite claiming to be high end. Since our first visit during which we could not fault a single thing we immediately booked to come back within the next two weeks. The staff are friendly and attentive, but not intrusive, and the food is good quality beautifully cooked. At the time there was a small party celebrating a birthday who were all enjoying themselves and from an onlooker received excellent service throughout right down to the end of their meal when they were served champagne. This week we discussed how lovely the lighting is, not too bright but a warm glow. I have eaten every variety of meat they have on the menu. The liver, veal. steak and lamb were all cooked to perfection. It is also nice to see people made an effort in the way they dressed which not only showed respect for the restaurant but for other diners. Who wants to see workman's jeans when you have dressed suitably for a lovely evening meal in stylish surroundings, keep them for the burger bar. .”

“Absolutely fantastic! Hosted my friends baby shower here and I can’t recommend them enough! So accommodating with budget, decorations, etc unlike other venues! Food was delicious, everyone was catered for and commented on how yummy it was. Cocktails were fab too! Honestly, if you have a party to host or you just want somewhere to go for a coffee…(or something stronger) this is the place to go! Most importantly every staff member was lovely, friendly and helpful! 10 out of 10!”

“Food was very good. Spicing right for the symbols on the menu. Portions were generous and mix of ingredients was up at the premium end - plenty of meat and prawns in the Singapore noodles for instance. Logistics were easy - call in with order, time to collect and it was ready then and well packed. All in all an excellent meal.”

“Staff were nice and pleasant. The pub had quite a relaxed atmosphere almost like a coffee shop rather than a pub. Lots of tables outside although I think these are shared with the businesses adjoining the pub. The Guinness was excellent as was the Late Red (Shepherd Neame)”

“Delicious food. Decent portion sizes and quality is always consistent. We are pescatarian and there are some lovely choices. The Szechuan style King prawns are really nice. Really recommend this takeaway, it’s worth the drive to pick up.”

“the service was amazing. Spoke to a lovely girl on the phone and it came so fast and still hot! Great food and delivery driver. Our order was slighlty wrong the first delivery but we told them and they sent a free dish of the correct meal and free drink with a super cute 'sorry' note. Couldnt be more pleased with the food, the rice and sauce is to die for and chicken such good quality. Would reccomend salmon teriyaki with brown rice and chicken katsu. “On a trip down from Scotland, my family and I stopped by for a pint and some fodder. Safe to say that we had a fantastic spread of food, some lovely cold pints and the bar manager James was a legend. Attended to our every need. Lovely atmosphere, good food, great staff and just a stones throw from the train station and high street.”

“A really nice friendly pub both guests and staff ,dog friendly, dartboard, pool table, juke box outside garden with a few bit for kids. Also have regular entertainment and plenty of free parking in the gamecock meadow next door if car park full”
