“We have been to moxie's a number of times over the last 6 months and have enjoyed the food every time. The service is friendly and excellent too. We have tried the fried cod, fried hake and the grilled sea bream which are all highly recommended. Portions are generous and I would say that one portion of chips is probably enough to share between two. Definitely buy the homemade tartare sauce which is well worth the 50p that it is charged. If you are going I would definitely try the sea bream and ask them what the catch if the day is (usually £7.50 at lunch).”

“Came along in the lunch time rush 5th Nov 2022. I ordered in advance via the phone. The food was fresh hot and well flavoured. My Order was to take away when I got home my food was still hot. For £26 three adults ate and a small child so value for money was good. Will I return and have some more yes I will well done.”

The food was beautifully presented and served hot. The room was elegantly decorated for 25 guests seated at a long table. Nothing was too much for the staff, I was so impressed. “The Wells Tavern is one of Hampstead's best gastro pubs offering all that is needed to be a neighbourhood favourite including a great location, outside seating with heaters and large canopies, good service, tasty food and two floors offering formal and informal dinning. The prices are on the high end when compared to other areas of town, but it is part of the "Hampstead premium". The ground floor is a traditional bar with tables, sofas and all around dog friendliness. The food menu includes plates of chorizo with red pepper and gherkins, cod fishcakes, burgers and grilled tuna steak. Tables outside are at a premium when the sun shines. The upstairs is made up of three small dining rooms, with a more formal menu and setting. The scallops (£14.50) part of the starter menu where fresh and full of flavour, while the ribeye steak (£29.50) was tasty. The portion of chips could be larger but they were perfectly cooked. The duck leg (£19.85) was cooked perfectly.A great spot for drinks, a quick bite to eat or a more formal meal if you do not mind the premium prices.”
