“First time having fish and chips here. very impressed everything was cooked beautifully. Fish was lovely and fresh.chips were also lovely. Will be using as my regular chippy from now on.”

Generally good, took time to grant our request for heating to be put on due to two of our group feeling chilly in the place, but they made up by other aspects of service. Jllof rice portions were large for us, lol, may be we do not eat much. Puffpuff was nice. Thanks De Quilox”

Absolutely amazing food from starters to main, even the bread comes out soft, fresh & hot……the food was perfectly cooked to compliment the high quality of produce used…..I had liver starter & the mixed shish…..cannot praise the chef enough. “Booked last minute after trying to find somewhere locally for a roast. Can only say wow, most definately the best roast we have had out in a long time! Delicious. Not cheap but where is nowadays. Highly recommend.”

“We went to the switch on of the Christmas lights by Bradley Walsh and Santa !! The blue boar had a small Christmas market in the car pack - the pub was extremely busy but plenty of staff - we had a large round table of 13 and had 3 course roast and we were all veery happy with how lovely it was considering it was so busy but m there ! The service was good the staff were all helpful . We all had a fab day great atmosphere and food was top notch !! Well done blue boar and the staff who worked so hard under pressure x”

“30 years ago on 16th October 1992, me and my husband had our wedding reception here. We had a great time. Today 30 years later, to the day, we chose to celebrate our anniversary here. I have to say I am so glad we did. I booked the table on line, (how technology has come on in all that time!) We arrived and were greeted by a young lady who just beamed a huge smile. She found our table for us and I was touched by the reserved label with my name and anniversary written on it. Another young lady (i think the manager) came to our table, again with a lovely beaming smile, and a candle, which she explained she had wanted to place on our table before we arrived. Another really sweet touch. She explained that there was no longer table service but she wanted to do table service for us. We felt really pampered. What a treat. We were looked after from start to finish, smiles all the time.. checking to make sure all was well. The food was lovely, the girls were wonderful, going above and beyond to make sure our anniversary was celebrated in style. We were most touched by being invited to have a look upstairs where we had our reception all those years ago! It was quite surreal, and I felt quite emotional. We would just like to say a huge thank you for such a wonderful, friendly, welcoming visit. 10/10 From Sharmayne and Les”

“Generous drinks pricing, especially during these trying times, and lovely bouncy thriving atmosphere. Busy with lot's of customers, creating an almost 'party atmosphere'. My friends and I had an excellent visit there, and I'll gladly recommend this lively pub.”

“First visit since new management have taken over. Bar staff are a great laugh and very friendly. Beer is clean and average price for romford. The decor is great with traditional pub setup - plenty of tables and space for a good night to be had! Bouncers were decent enough and kept the clientel well behaved! Hope they get the live bands back soon, they made for a fantastic atmosphere.”
