Situated along the Maumee River, this area has a rich history of Native American settlement. The park features ravines, upland forests, and bluffs with stunning views of the river and its islands. In the early 1900s, businessman Henry F. Schnelker purchased the land and operated a spring water bottling business with plans to open a sanitarium.
