Schnelker purchased the land and operated a spring water bottling business with plans to open a sanitarium. Despite later owners realizing his dream, the sanitarium closed due to financial troubles in the 1920s. Visitors can still see the foundation of the old building on the property today.
ACRES Land Trust is a nonprofit organization supported by over 2,000 members dedicated to preserving natural and working lands in northeast Indiana, southern Michigan, and northwest Ohio. "Nice short trails that will get your mind on nature. Nice views overlooking the river. Quiet, calm, clear hike. Definitely will be back and worth the short drive from Fort Wayne."
"Love it however wish the trail was paved so we could take someone in a wheelchair. She would love to see it as she grew up in the area. We also wish there were benches throughout the trail for people with arthritis that occasionally need to sit down. We also witnessed a family that had three small kids that would have been helpful if it was accessible for a stroller as well. Otherwise it's beautiful"

"A fun place for a walk in the woods. Nicely mowed trails on a winding path lead to the dense forest. We heard two owls while we were there calling to each other. Colors were spectacular this weekend, nearly peak. The trail to the left is well marked once you pass the tree line. Both trails are relatively easy and level."
