Immediate Care Center: Hendricks Regional Health Avon

"This is not a reputable healthcare facility. The lack of care, professionalism and knowledge from the Dr. we saw was honestly shocking. The dr. was condescending, rude, disrespectful and honestly felt like there was racial bias involved. When advocating for the health of a loved one i was told " im not wasting my resources on you when there are other people who actually need them." I offered to pay for additional testing out of pocket and i was told that my money wouldnt cover what i was requesting. She said verbatim " No. I am very comfortable denying you what youre asking because there is no medical indication to check or test what youre concerned about," and that i needed to go home and wait it out. She very condescendingly tried explaining the difference in treatment between viruses and bacteria and being in healthcare myself i am very well versed in those differences. When i finally got to speak with someone about my treatment i was told " its our policy to not take requests and test unnecessarily," and " im sorrry you felt that way but im sure thats not what she meant," when i expressed concern that racial bias was involved. The problem was never corrected. This is the type of experience that will last with someone as a patient and as a healthcare professional. The lack of accountability can make an impact on future nurses and drs."

"My wife and I have had a nasty cold that has been getting worse. Unfortunately, our family MD was not available. We presented and explained that we were both having same symptoms and were retired from health care ourselves and wished to be seen together. The receptionist was very nice (why 2 stars). But when we were called back. We were called separate. I again asked to be seen together. The nurse said to me that was "not what the providers wanted". I said if they can not meet our request I would just leave. The nurse rudely said "then you can leave". We did and will not be back. Dr. Robert Stewart"

"I would not waste your money. They use to be really good, but it has just gone down hill. People go there to avoid going to the ER and it is a waste of money. 1. My son had a black spot and swollen face. It kind of looked like a spider bite. The multiple locations made me feel it wasn't a spider bite. His eye was swelling shut. They put him on antibiotics. His condition got worse so we got him in to an emergency dermatology appointment. The doctor took one look at him and said it was black spot poison ivy. 2. My Mom fell and has artificial knees. They can take X-rays and billed insurance to tell her to go to the ER for X-rays. 3. Another child wouldn't stop vomiting & couldn't keep food down. They said she had a virus, ruptured ovarian cyst. She also had a rare digestive issue they found on the CT, she sees a specialist at Riley. The vomiting was due to intense pain. 4. Surgery requirement before arrival official COVID-19 test. They check us in bill insurance and then said we have a limited supply go buy one from CVS or Walgreens. It had to be official & they didn't care. 5. I had swelling in my neck & inflammation which was pretty bad. The NP blew me off and my doctor told me I had to go to the ER. The Steroids and anti-inflmmatory drugs gave me sweet relief. They could have given me those meds & saved me $400.00. I paid them a co-pay of $35.00 to not help me at all, to pay an ER visit."

"I was seen on 10-29-23 and the medical professional noted several things that were not pertinent to my purpose for being there. I've used this facility a few times before and will not ever go back there. This place is (and will) give Hendricks Regional Health a bad reputation if they don't get their act together and get competent, caring people. Totally unprofessional, not interested in my issue, but VERY interested in noting such things as I was confused; I couldn't remember the date but then corrected, I stood up and walked around the exam room while I was waiting for a staff member to come in. (must have cameras in the room) which does not bother me in the least, but what's wrong with walking around? Despicable!"

"I have a great experience every time I come to this immediate care. I've come here for several reasons, the most recent being a foot injury that required x-rays. The staff in back is always so nice, helpful, patient, and caring. I had very little wait. My x-rays were evaluated before I left. The staff went the extra mile to help me thru my appointment. I will continue to come back when I can't get in with my family doctor."
