Station One Smokehouse

"Waited 20 mins to find out they were out of pulled pork. Guy unwraps a new brisket in front of us, chops it up and then pulls a container from under the counter and dumps it on a bun. Turned out to be ice cold brisket. Not a good sandwich! The fries included undercooked/raw potatoes. I know it is a new place, but they should not be open if they cannot manage the process/ food service. The chances of us giving them a second chance are slim. Only good thing was the banana pudding."

"Great new addition to Yorkville. Food was tasty, staff is friendly, good atmosphere. The only thing I recommend for this new establishment is more employees on the food line. It's impossible to serve hundreds of people with just 1-3 cooks. They have only 1 man running the first station. He's cutting and measuring the meat. He's also the one directing the rest of the orders to the rest of the staff. Wait time in line was about 50 minutes for us. We were there on a Saturday and by 7:30pm a few items had been sold out by then."

"We had the brisket, smoked turkey, and pulled pork. All were excellent. The brisket was the star though and was phenomenal. One thing I will say is the system definitely needs improvement. One guy cutting and pricing all the meat is impossible to keep up with a busy line."

"Station One will be a great addition to Yorkville. Offering a wide range of different meats. Brisket, pulled pork, and pork belly burnt ends all make the menu, as well as smoked fish and smoked turkey when you want to change it up. In my opinion, the best reason to go to station one is for the smoked pastrami. Typically an item that is considered a special item at other places, this is the best cut here. Great bark, tender, well seasoned meat on the inside. The Mac n cheese and creamy with no grit and the pasta is cooked perfectly so that it isn't mushy. Add the bread crumbs, they have hints of garlic and give an added texture to the Mac n cheese. The corn bread is flavorful, and does not have corn kernels in it (if that's your type of thing). I added the whipped honey butter, and was not disappointed The restaurant serves fountain coke products, and has ample seating, a bar, and a patio area that will be awesome in the summer. The bar is configured to serve the main dining and patio area, so even if you're not there for meat, it has a nice ambiance. Plenty of TVs as well. It's cafeteria style eating, so you'll select your meat, sides and extras, and then pay and select a seat."

"fantastic BBQ. we had the brisket burger. burnt ends. sliced brisket. old fashioned. all divine. if you've been to the one in Plainfield...same and does not disappoint!! going to be a money pit for me for sure."
