“Every time I come to Hobart I never miss visiting for breaky. I love their coffees and everything else. The view from inside into the hills are spectacular. This place isn’t located too far away from the Hobart cbd, it’s worth the drive or walk.”

“Fantastic place - the owner is lovely and makes hearty, tasty food at really fair prices. I had a gorgeous home made beef mince pie and it was on another level. Everything else on offer looked just as good. Would give 6 stars if I could for this awesome little business.”

“Such a fantastic experience in Hobart. Most of the cats were asleep when we went there, but we were content to sit and enjoy. You can have sine coffee and cake after you spend some time with the cats. Easy distance from city centre. Highly recommended.”

“Sensational food, wine & atmosphere. I would highly recommend for 2ppl if you arrive at 5pm. The only downside was waiting 2+hrs for a 4person table, as it is walk in only. Couples were pritorised who arrived after us. The lovely staff could only estimate waiting time as several people sat for the whole night. In the end it was worth the wait!”

“Had heard good things about the meals here and I'm happy yo say the reports were true. Picked a spot out and sat down to select what to eat. I had decided to try the the Baltimore Philly Steak Sandwiche which came with a decent portion of fries. I'd also ordered some Mac & Cheese sticks and opted to wash them down with one of their pale ales. That Steak Philly Sandwiche was absolutely delicious and highly recommend it. The Mac & Cheese sticks were also very tasty. The whole lot came to about $30 which was very good value. The staff were very friendly and never seemed to stop working, always running around looking after their customers...so good to see. Will definitely be back to try some other dishes. Do yourself a favour, if you haven't been then you should.”

“Long overdue Friday lunch with some school dads. The beef cheeks were outstanding, melt in your mouth and perfectly complemented by the lentils and pumpkin puree. Still dreaming about them....”

“Kalbi is a must visit place if you’re in Hobart! The lady that served us was very attentive and took her time to explain the menu to us before proceeding to offer us some recommendations. We ordered the chicken bibimbap and the spicy pork ssam and it did not disappoint! Both dishes were generous with the meats and we also loved the side dishes that came with the meal, I’m definitely keen to come back and try more dishes!”

“August 2022: Shingeki Yakiniku opened a while back, however given the attention it has received since opening, it has taken us this long to be able to have a table. The menu is a little limited, compared to most other similar restaurants, however once you've made your selection, you'll find the portion sizes are larger than expected. Wagu cuts are perfect, and of a high quality. Side dishes are definitely something you'll want to share between the table. Absolutely delicious and we'll definitely be back.”

“Did not stay but ate at restaurant. This is our second visit and the food is excellent. Great sized portions, good value, friendly and helpful staff. They cooked the steak and beef cheek to perfection and we both left very full and with a smile. Thoroughly recommend grabbing a meal here and we will be back!!”

We placed our order and within 10 minutes it was before us. Absolutely delicious and generous portions too. Definitely recommendable.”

And Scott down at the bar and reception is a absolute champion. Could not help you enough. Great bloke. Didn’t eat there but if the meals taste as good as they look your in for a treat.”
