"Very terrible experience here. The host have bad attitudes and seem very lazy. They have continued to make comments about the older clientele and it has been very discouraging as a patron. They have continued to talk about how much they don't need to work and make so much money. In order of mishaps that manager, Dennis, fails to address. 1) Bar is understaffed. One bartender for service and bar. 2) Food is cold. Signature crab cakes were luke warm when sent out. 3) Food was not timed. First course to entree was about 90 minutes. 4) Filet was rare when asked for medium. 5) Overall, staff was not fit for fine dining. Bartender, told me as a new patron; it was my responsibility to ask about the menu. 6) The manager took from hands, a drink, that I was paying for, an said I disrepected his minor hostesses with this picture."

"I made a reservation 6 weeks in advance to enjoy a dinner on February 10 with my wife. We were looking forward to a lovely dinner in a romantic atmosphere. We were greeted by a very nice valet and later by an excellent waiter (Robert). The food and the service was top notch as reflected in my ratings. As we were being led to our table we were impressed with the warm ambiance, the lighted courtyard and the live piano music. Unfortunately upon arriving at our table we were extremely disappointed. It was located on a back porch area with a view of a fence and the street. It leaves you disconnected from the beautiful dining room and quite frankly shouldn't be used as a seating area for paying customers and is better suited as a break room for the busboys. I blame myself for even accepting this table and should have asked for a different one or gone to a different restaurant. I chose this restaurant because of the atmosphere as you can see by viewing the pictures on their website but other than when we were walking in or leaving we were robbed of enjoying this fine dining experience."

"We arrived at The Veranda and were automatically in love with the setting, from the Old Florida feel to the pianist, we knew from that moment that it was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary dinner. Here’s the run down: The bread is a tad sweet but it’s delicious The corn bread is possibly one of the best I have ever tried. My husband agrees. I had the house salad that comes with tomatoes, leafy greens, hearts of palm and a choice of dressing. I chose the blue cheese dressing that was delicious and did not overpower the salad. We ordered the ribeye which was the special of the day that came with mashed potatoes and broccolini and the salmon that comes with rice and asparagus. I absolutely loved the ribeye but my husband thought the salmon was a bit too sweet but still super tasty. For desert we shared the peanut butter fudge pie and seriously, that was to die for. You cannot go wrong with that! Rob, our server, was beyond fantastic. He was pleasant , attentive and had a great sense of humor. Overall, it was a fantastic anniversary dinner and I would go back any day."

"An old school, humble restaurant. The ribeye and salmon were outstanding. Service was great, beautiful outside area…. We did not dine outside, too humid. We sat inside at a cozy table for two. Bread, drinks, & dinner were wonderful. Highly recommend!"
