San Carlos Community Pool, located at 8208 Sanibel Boulevard in Fort Myers, Florida, is a popular aquatic facility offering a variety of programs and services to the public. The pool, which holds 173,218 gallons of water and features eight lanes, is heated and open year-round. Lap lanes are available for swimmers looking to get in a good workout, while aerobic classes are offered four days a week. Water walking sessions are also held on specific days for those interested in low-impact exercise. The pool, which opened in August of 1989, is home to the Gulf Coast Swim Team and provides swim lessons for all ages throughout the year. ADA accommodations are available to ensure accessibility for all visitors. In addition to the main pool, there is a small pool slide for added fun on days when there are no classes being taught. Night swimming is made possible by deck lights installed in 1991, and a shade structure was added in 1998 to provide relief from the sun.
