Lakes Park
Lakes Park is a beautiful park and tourist attraction located at 7330 Gladiolus Drive in Fort Myers, Florida, United States. The park offers a variety of attractions and activities for visitors to enjoy, including a splash pad, train rides, and the opportunity to view the Vietnam Memorial Wall during certain dates. The park also offers a Specialty Summer Camp program tailored to different age groups and weekly themes. Lakes Park covers 158 acres of the 279 acre facility and was developed for recreational use in 1984. The park features a Fragrance Garden, Memory Lane, and a Miniature Railroad. The Lakes Park Enrichment Foundation, a non-profit organization, is dedicated to restoring the park to a native Florida wildlife environment through the implementation of its Master Plan. The foundation has added outdoor fitness stations and plans to make further enhancements to create an even more attractive wildlife environment for the community to enjoy. Veterans Recreation Center
The Veterans Recreation Center, located at 55 Homestead Road South in Lehigh Acres, Florida, offers a variety of programs and activities for individuals and families. The center is managed by Rebecca Flora, while the park is overseen by Dave Raybuck. The facility is open from dawn to dusk, with the Splash Pad open daily from 8 am to 6 pm, weather permitting. The Recreation Center hours are Monday-Thursday 7 am - 9 pm, Friday 7 am – 7 pm, and Saturday & Sunday 9 am – 5 pm. Summer Camp registration is still available, with programs offered for just $75 per week per child. The center also offers fitness classes, personal training, family movie nights, hands-on clay classes, and tumbling classes for toddlers. Membership to the center costs $10 per individual or $25 per family for a lifetime membership, which includes access to all four large Recreation Centers in Lee County.

College Park Neighborhood Center

These gentle creatures seek out the warm waters of the park's canal during the cooler winter months when the Gulf of Mexico temperature drops below 68°F. The park offers a public kayak launch, as well as kayak rentals through the Manatee Kayaking Company. Visitors can also enjoy picnicking, pavilion and amphitheater rentals, and educational programs led by Volunteer Interpretive Naturalists. While manatees are typically present from late December to February, they are not sighted during the warmer summer months. The park, which opened in 1996, is maintained through a cooperative effort of partners and sponsors, including Florida Power & Light and the Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau. With over 200,000 visitors annually, Manatee Park provides a unique opportunity to observe and learn about these fascinating marine mammals in their natural habitat. Please note that as of March 12, 2024, manatees are no longer being sighted at the park due to rising Gulf temperatures.
