"What a wonderful time I spent at the Vinoy hotel in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida. From start to finish. I had a beautiful experience. The pool is exceptional. The rehabilitation of the hotel is an immaculate. My room was large beautifully designed and had a very nice bathroom. I loved all of the bedding, the toiletries, etc. Had some issues with service at the pool. The server was nice but he did explain. I think it was his first week of work. However, for that kind of money I do expect good service, especially since I am a pool person and will be there the entire day. The pool attendance, however Who set up the chair, umbrella, situation, towels, etc. That stuff was wonderful. The gym was so clean and so large. I didn't do any of the classes, but they had a list of free classes all throughout the day. And the attendance at the spa were also very kind and helpful. Had a bit of a mixup with my bags. However, I want to reiterate these are small hiccups in an overall wonderful trip."

"We planned to stay the weekend with family and friends. Instead, we will be leaving first thing tomorrow morning and heading home. For starters I pulled into valet and they claimed the garage was “full” and therefore I needed to find street parking around the corner. After parking my truck in a dark ally more than 8 blocks away from the hotel in the pouring rain we finally walk in to a crowded lobby. Wait in line for a hostess to tell us it would be 45 min until our room was ready. I travel year round for work and can honestly say I have never. Never. Waiting in a hotel lobby for my room to be ready. I’m accommodated regardless the circumstances. After standing in the lobby wet, and running late for a wedding finally our room is available. Zero directions provided by staff on where our room would be we ask around for directions to the room. Some team members say to the left, others said no it’s back the way you came. No one offering to assist us to the closest elevators. Now we just made it to the room, my wife is crying because she doesn’t have time to do her makeup, my suit is soaked, and we will never. Never be back. Water, yea. Front desk was “all out” As a seasoned Marriott member, Marriott needs to take a look in the mirror on this one. Total waste of time and money."

"Edit: The resort manager Richard called and resolved my situation. He also promised on actions to prevent such things from happening again as well as a decent compensation for my experience. He is very professional and responsive. Given his good attitude towards this whole situation and positive resolution and steps to make this resort better, I’m willing to change my original review. And I look forward to visiting this resort again. ————————— They billed me for four nights of valet parking, even though I only stayed three nights. Called them several times, no response to my calls or attempts to clarify this charge, leaving me puzzled and frustrated. Housekeeping left our door open the entire day while we were out, and to top it off, a random knock at 3 am? Scary and not cool! While the manager offered apologies and an explanation later, the absence of any compensation to address this gross oversight was disappointing, to say the least. And let's talk service—or lack thereof. Asked for a microwave, had to call twice, and it took more than half hour to get it. Plus, housekeeping picked up our used towels but forgot to replace them, leaving us with only two towels until we had to specifically request replacements. Overall, despite the hotel's self-proclaimed 4-star rating, my experience fell far below this standard. It was the most unpleasant and unsatisfactory hotel stay I have encountered. Won't be going back and can't recommend it to anyone looking for a hassle-free stay."

"OMG! I have never been to a more beautiful hotel in my life. The standard queen room was more of a suite with an L-shaped couch in the corner. The amenities were all top-notch, from the white marble tile to the black accented faucets and mirrors. The ballrooms were spacious, and the breakfast we had for our conference was in a room filled with light from a huge window. Everyone was very attentive to our needs throughout my stay. I wish I had more time to just enjoy my room or visit the warm inviting pool (I was there for a conference). There is an ample health gym on site with plenty of equipment to use. It's a short walk to lots of restaurants and places to visit as you enjoy views of the water. I look forward to coming back with my wife and kids."

"Stayed here over the weekend with my family. Would come here again in a heartbeat! First and foremost, the location is superb; within walking distance to so many great restaurants, shops, etc. The architecture is gorgeous and they did an absolutely amazing job maintaining the original charm of the building while also renovating it with modern finishes. Our room was spacious and super clean with amazing views. The best thing about this place is the service. Every single person we encountered from the valet, to the front desk, to the wait staff provided us with friendly smiles and prompt service. We mentioned at the front desk that we were celebrating a wedding anniversary and when we came back to our room there was a bottle of champagne waiting for us. Everything about this place is top notch."
