Crystal Bay Hotel

"4 stars on location only due to proximity to busy intersection with noisy drivers through the night. That would not make me discourage any of my friends/family from staying though. Otherwise 5 stars all the way....clean, exceptional staff, good breakfast, a close drive to all that st pete has to offer. Avoid the ridiculous chain rates + resort fees + parking, and any number of extra charges. At crystal bay. No resort fee. Free parking directly in front of entrance. Wonderful free breakfast. And the history is the best part."

"Jennifer was great with contacting us when our rooms were ready. We had booked for 3 rooms. They made sure we all were right next to each other. The hotel was so beautiful. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Every one we encountered during our short stay was extremely pleasant. They even had umbrellas for use on a morning we had a wedding to attend. Breakfast every morning was delicious. We can’t wait to return again. Harrold Family"

"Love this place. This is the 2nd time we have stayed here and will absolutely stay again and again. If you like the feel of historical charm in a very classy environment this is your place. The staff are amazing and so welcoming, friendly and accommodating. They go above and beyond. The check in process is so easy, quick and efficient. The breakfast is absolutely the best we have ever had. So much selection and always staff there to ensure food selection is full and hot. We love this place I give it a 6 out of 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"

"I stayed here for a few days after moving out of my house on an interstate move. I had my 2 cats with me so I didn't book a regular room. And yet I was comfortable and happy. I needed to extend an additional day..which was no problem for hotel. The small details that made this such a nice stay are too numerous to detail but the cat treats with my cats names on them really was sweet and left a great impression. The staff is wonderful and helpful. Breakfast was great. There is a separate sitting area to read and be quiet. Tea and coffee is available in this area all day. I will def come back without the cats and book the Marilyn Monroe suite. The only thing I could suggest is the addition of black out curtains. The light from outside was a bit bright but if you're tired enough,you can get over it quick. Thank you for making my stay so nice."

"I enjoyed speaking to the manager, and front desk clerk (Kathy) about the history of the hotel. The Sunset Hotel (Crystal Bay) hosted many notable guests since 1915. I was privileged to work for former owner, Leland Thorp, at the hotel in 1970-1971. The furnishings, dining room and holiday decorations were beautiful. The room was very comfortable. And the ambience reflects the hotels old world charm! Brought back many memories."
