"Booked this kayak tour on a whim for our last day of vacation and it ended up being our favorite part of the whole trip! Scott and Karissa are so friendly and have extensive knowledge of the area, the wildlife and the vegetation. We love wildlife and were excited to be able to see things up close in their natural habitat. Scott and Karissa are very respectful of the animals and their habitat and will guide you in observing without being invasive. The mangrove tunnels are incredible and they also took us to the most beautiful beach on Shell Key. We even saw dolphins which is one thing I was really hoping for! Overall the tour was amazing and I wish we could have stayed out all day!"

"I just wanted to post a review: This kayak trip with Scott and Karissa was the best kayak tours I have experienced (and I have tried several in the area). Scott gives you so much history, trivia, tips and interesting tidbits the whole time you are kayaking. Karissa makes the kayak trip so peaceful and safe for the group. I love 'shopping local' and this kayak tour company is just that. They charge much less than the other companies and it's 3 hours! You will get to see so much wildlife, mangroves, and Shell Key with this local company 50/50 Shell Key Tour. What an incredible trip whether you are a local or visiting Saint Pete. "Scott & Karissa operate a wonderful kayak tour. Scott grew up nearby so he is intimately familiar with the preserve, mangroves, keys and abundant wildlife, which along with his humor, keeps the tour fun and interesting. We enjoyed paddling the bay, collecting sea shells on Shell Key and slipping in and out of the mangroves. This was the second tour for my wife and me, and this year we brought loans 4 other family members and friends with us. Everyone had fun. Well worth the drive up from Sarasota! We highly recommend Island Kayak Adventures!"
