Extended Stay America Select Suites - Lake Worth

"Stayed at an extended stay location in west palm beach and was impressed by it especially when it was $170 a night which wasn’t bad considering it was a last minute book. So when I found this extended stay location on last minute booking, I booked it at $180. I didn’t mind paying more because like I said, I was impressed with the 1st location. But as reality set in, I noticed a lot of people just sitting in their cars in the parking lot, people laying in the grass, sitting on the curbs and people walking around the parking lot. I was tired so I just went directly to my room so I could just forget about what was going on outside. Upon entering the room, I was hit with really a really strong cleaner. Kind of like they were trying to mask other smells. When I looked up, I was greeted with about 7 roommates (roaches) I didn’t know I was bunking with. I should have right then and there just checked out and found another place to stay BUT all the other hotels around were over $250 a night. So I go to turn on the air conditioning and had to fight one of the unexpected roommates (roaches) off because he was guarding the buttons. After finally relaxing, it was hard to stay asleep because you could hear people in the above room stomping around and since my window was next to the main road, I could just hear traffic all night. Moral of the story, I wouldn’t pick this location again if I’m in the area. I’d much gladly choose the other location in west palm beach that I stayed in, the night before. But if you’re just staying for a few hours and don’t mind the traffic noise, roaches, heavy cleaner smell, foot traffic in the parking lot, and upstairs noise, This is the place"

"This is a complete and honest review: all facts and no opinions. Room/facilities: The pictures online are nice, but the rooms are trashy and roach-infested. When you leave, dust off your clothes to make sure your not taking roaches with you. The hot water doesn’t get hot (lukewarm at best), the TV and remotes never work, the ac/heat unit does not work. Surprisingly, beds were fairly comfortable. Although the air worked, FL has been fairly cool so at night you cant put heat on to warm up the room. The sink was stopped up on the 3 day there. I had to unclog it myself. The fire alarm goes off at least 2-3x a week. I guess people are smoking and vaping on property. The manager check your room weekly and instead of people people out thats smoking which you can smell, he allows them to stay. People just stop going outside. I would had for a actual fire because plenty people will not survice and the facility will have major lawsuits. Also, its a like a kennel in there. It’s nothing but dogs everywhere and dog poop/urine in the stairways and the property. When you outside the facility, it smells so bad like its fertilizer but its not. The vending machines was broke the entire time I was there. The washers/dryers was always broke. The back door was broke too so you have to walk to the front to get in. My room was right at the back. Good luck when you have groceries and coming from the laundry mat. Furthermore, Im pretty sure someone died at the hotel. It was a medical examiner at the facility with a bunch of police. Staffing: If your staying longer than a few nights, you will never get your room clean. I was on a contract for 12-weeks and only time my room was clean from the company is when I threatened to call corporate. My contract got extended another 14-weeks and I deceided to leave and juat find somewhere else. I had to buy products and clean it on my own. Although, I dont mind, it’s a part of the duties of the hotel. They have 3 housekeepers to clean the entire facility. Everytime you request your room to be cleaned and fresh linen, they put your name on a list. When they do clean, the housekeeping ladies does a great job and they sweet but 3 people cant satisfy an entire building and do discharges and common areas. The short Caribbean woman with a curvy shape at the front desk and the taller black woman were both super nice and sweet, eventhough they know so much is messed up. The chubby white girl is fairly nice too but she be having an attitude sometimes. I guess she tired of everyone complaining and its nothing she can do about it. Now the manager, Jay, or whate er his name is, need training on customer service. He is extremely nasty and have the worst attitude than all the workers in the building build together. He is arrogent and, non-friendly, and non-ethical. He is the reason I chosed not to complete the remainder of the contract there. He is also the reason I told the account rep from my contracting company to not send no one else at this location. Four travel nurses was coming a month after me for 12-week contracts a each. I told them find somewhere else. Location: Is great. Its close to everything, the highway, etc. Stores and shopping centers, etc are all within walking distance or a short drive."

"This is supposed to be a non-smoking hotel. This hotel is overcome with the smell of cigarette smell and the worst is the smell of Pot! It makes me sick to my stomach and gives me a massive headache! Everyday we would go out and we would come back out room just had the nastiest odor of cigarette and Pot smell. My husband would have to go in and spray the room with air freshener first! I mean the entire hall way stunk along with the elevator and even the front entrance. Now you can't tell me that the staff cannot smell this in their hotel. I will never stay in this hotel and I will be leaving a bad review on your webpage as well! Horrible, just horrible!"

"To be honest, I made a booking based on the images. The place looked good, but I would never return. The dirty hallways were disgusting. The smell of weed was horrible and the fire alarm went off several times, almost causing me to have a heart attack at night due to the people's smoke. They smoke inside the rooms that are supposedly a smoke-free space. The elevator had a smell of urine and the facilities were very deteriorated. The room was not bad but the air conditioning did not cool at all. Furthermore, outside the building there is a plastic pole that when hit by the wind produces a loud unpleasant sound that does not allow me sleep. More than a bad experience, it was truly an experience that I don't plan to repeat."

"The staff here is wonderful very courteous, very helpful and just plain nice the people they let stay here on the other hand and the big dogs that are in here and not taking care of is ridiculous. This is a nice place but you have to be very careful because of the people that have lived here for years which I don’t understand this is I’m going on my fourth year waiting for my home to be done. The roaches here are bad, but not in my room because I know how to get rid of them. I don’t leave food out I don’t leave things dirty and I also spray mint all around the room roaches seem to hate, the smell of mint do spiders and it is proven. I have done it many times.
