“Not normally a person posting a review on everyday mundane activities but yesterday encountered a bit of old fashioned customer service which lifted my spirits. I dropped into Marks at Ashbourne to pick up some shopping. Not familiar with this shop I asked a member of the M & S staff for help finding things. The lady called Jackie was so helpful & cheery it inspired me to tell everyone that customer service has not disappeared totally. Regards Julian from Derby.”

“Just wanted to say a massive thank you to the team who were on tonight. My son fell ill very unexpectedly and was sick all over the shop floor and in the trolley he was sitting in. As soon as I asked for help people were there straight away to help us. I felt awful for what had happened. I managed to get my son to my mum outside and went back in to see if I could help. But the staff were on it cleaning up and directing customers away. I helped put the shopping in a bag that was no good and they even provided me with some bags to put his clothes in and one to sit with in the car until I get him home and get him cleaned up. Thank you so much again for the help.”

“This M&S is the best in Derby in my view. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. I never see a miserable staff member. All are willing to help. Staff on the check out are very kind and chatty. They all say hello, and you can have a nice chat with them whilst packing your shopping :) It's got the same feel to it as a local shop. There does not seem to be a high staff turn over and it seems to be very well run. I can always get what I want. I love the food at M&S. My only wish is that the Kingsway one had a deli area, then it would be perfect! The store is very clean and I love how throughout the pandemic they have always cleaned the trolleys and been strict on the door when allowing entry. This has made me feel safe when shopping there. I do not have anything bad to say about the M&S. I only wish that other shops were run this efficiently.”

“Just another typical Co-op! What Co-op do is brilliant. Brilliant in the simplicity of all they do. They stock a great range of food & drink, along with other bits & pieces for the home or even colouring books for the kids. With a very handy large carpark also, this store is a saviour for that purchase on your way home - or to a dinner out round friends.”

“I do most of my shopping at this local Co-op. The prices match the shop in town, if you ask for something specific they will do their best to get it for you. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. It is within walking distance so I don't need to worry about parking. There is a cash point, in fact it has everything going for it.”

Great selection of products and the offers are always on rotation which helps me to try new foods and improve a balanced diet. “This is my local coop and I think its fantastic, The ready meals are always delicious and they have a good range of products, Brilliant if you are after doing a small shop Prices are very fare and the staff are beyond amazing they always have time to have a nice word to say, especially if you treat them like people, Always enjoy shopping there and the management should be very proud, Also the two oakwood branches too, Great bunch of people, Especially with this virus they are doing everything they can,”

“This Co-op is really good for topping up the weekly shop or those weekday evenings when you need a few items. Unfortunately this place is expensive on quite a few items but they do have deals on at times that are quite good. I don't think I'd do my weekly shop here as Aldi is much cheaper. They have a large selection of goods to choose from however this been been reduced over recent years and reduced further do to the recent changes to the building that now includes a Burton Menswear. The staff here are the loveliest bunch of people i've ever met in a supermarket. Always friendly and chatty. I you are need a few items and are in the town centre I would recommend.”

“Small M&S with a reasonable range, great for snacks and sandwiches that are decent quality while not having silly prices. You can also get a few essentials here and a ready meal for your tea after a long journey. Probably the best retailer in the place, certainly a brand I trust, and they accept my M&S chargecard so I can collect my &More points too.”
