Today, we proudly serve the Lawndale community in a modern facility that opened on March 18, 2009, featuring the stunning glass artwork "Subdivisions" by Anne Marie Karlsen. View Park Bebe Moore Campbell Library
Welcome to the View Park Bebe Moore Campbell Library, a vibrant community hub located at 3854 West 54th Street, Los Angeles, California. Nestled in the heart of View Park-Windsor Hills, our library serves as a cornerstone for residents in this unique unincorporated area, just west of Los Angeles, north of Inglewood, and southeast of Culver City. Founded in 1940, the View Park Library has a rich history and a strong connection to the community. Originally housed on S. Harcourt Avenue, the library moved to its current location in 1977 and proudly showcases a mural by artist Frank Matranga. In 2015, we were honored to be renamed after Bebe Moore Campbell, a beloved View Park resident, bestselling author, and mental health advocate.
Gardena Mayme Dear Library
Welcome to the Gardena Mayme Dear Library, a cherished community hub located at 1731 West Gardena Boulevard, Gardena, California. As a proud branch of the Los Angeles County Library system, we offer a rich history and a wide range of services to meet the diverse needs of our patrons. Our library's story began under the guidance of the Wednesday Progressive Club before becoming part of the Los Angeles County Free Library in 1914. After a brief jurisdictional change, we returned to the County System in 1951. The current building, dedicated on December 5, 1964, was renamed in 1992 in honor of Mrs. Mayme Dear, a devoted volunteer whose legacy continues to inspire.

Designed by renowned African-American architect Vincent Proby, the A C Bilbrew Library is a spacious 21,000-square-foot facility that can house up to 100,000 books. The library also hosts the esteemed "African-American Living Legend" Series, celebrating notable figures such as Rosa Parks and Ray Charles.
