Named in honor of Lakewood Mayor George H. Nye, Jr., who passed away while in office in 1971, the library is committed to fostering a love of reading and lifelong learning. The library is supported by the dedicated Friends of Lakewood Libraries, a volunteer-run organization established in 1972. Pico Rivera Library
