Since its dedication on June 13, 1970, Alondra Library has been a cornerstone of learning and cultural enrichment, proudly serving Norwalk with a focus on Mexican-American heritage and culture. With an initial collection of nearly 15,000 volumes, the library has grown to become a vibrant space for education, creativity, and community engagement.

The Friends of Alondra Library, a dedicated volunteer-run organization, plays a vital role in supporting the library and its events. Through their efforts, the library continues to thrive as a center for cultural and educational activities. The library offers a wide range of services, including access to a diverse collection of books, eBooks, and digital media, ensuring that patrons of all ages can find something to enjoy.

Alondra Library is proud to participate in LA County Library's exciting programs, such as the 45th Annual Bookmark Contest for young artists and the One Book, One County celebration. We also offer innovative services like Kindle Paperwhite checkouts, providing pre-loaded books for on-the-go reading, and laptop rentals for in-library use.

Our library is committed to supporting the educational needs of students through Homework Centers equipped with enhanced resources and technology. Additionally, our Family Place Library initiative provides essential early childhood information, parent education, and family support, fostering a nurturing environment for young children.
