"I have been Dr. Smeltzer’s patient for 10 years. The very first office visit, he diagnosed me more than any physician had previously- through a thorough recap of my medical history. Since that time, my entire family and many of my friends have started coming to see him with similar positive results, and for years continuously. Dr. Smeltzer is diagnoses with the entire patient in mind- and I am grateful that he works alongside of me for any medical issues. It’s a beyond wonderful situation and I recommend him continuously. If you want a physician who listens, takes preventative practices, as well as the entire patient into consideration, then I recommend working with Dr. Smeltzer."

"I would steer clear of Dr. Smeltzer. There is terrible communication between him and his nurse and the patient. He will say one thing in the office and a completely different thing over the phone and then something else at the next appointment. He almost seems like he's in it for the money, to be honest. He wants people to come in for every little thing, even a referral or medicine refill. It takes several days to get a refill in, even when you see him that morning. So long in fact that you have to call the doctor on call to get it in. Seems like he's always on vacation or not in the office. Takes months to complete paperwork. Doesn't seem interested in finding actual causes for symptoms and prescribed weight loss for pretty much everything. Will not refer you to another doctor and gets upset when you do. If you seek another opinion, he will dismiss you from the entire practice. Leaving you to find another doctor in the middle of treatment. A doctor that is so offended and petty to dismiss a patient only because they sought better care shouldn't be practicing at all."
