"These people were awesome! My girlfriend was brought here by ambulance due to a car accident and they were extremely nice, helpful, and positive. This is the first hospital I’ve been to that people seem to enjoy their job and helping others. Nurse Mackenzie (hope i spelled it right) was the primary nurse in here. Everyone helping her was awesome as well! You all do not get enough recognition! Thanks for making a bad day a little better!"
"I want to thank the staff and doctors at Fort Sanders for saving my mother. She was admitted to the ICU and was kept for almost 2 weeks. She was in renal failure and had double pneumonia along with a slew of other issues. I was so worried and upset, but they took very good care of my mom and me and my family are grateful. Edit: So I wanted to edit my review because my mom was sent home with a necrotic arm and blood clots in the same arm. It was the area her main line was in the duration of her stay. I don't know if you sent her home with a rotting arm because of insurance purposes, but that wasn't very prudent since she has now been sent back to the hospital and has had to have 2 surgeries and a constant stream of heparin to break the clots that have formed. I would like to understand why you would save her life just to send her home in bad condition."
"I went here for symptoms of jaundice. Yellow eyes, itching, dark pee, pain, confusen, everything. And my other doctors are already testing me to see how bad of cirrhosis I have. So, needless to say, I was scared and wanted to make sure I was ok. We sat in the waiting room for over 4 hours. Got blood drawn and a urine sample almost right away, then waited two more hours for an IV. They said they were going to get me in for a CT scan and get me a room as soon as they could. My fiancee finally had enough of all the waiting at about the two and a half/ three hour mark and went to ask for me for some pain meds. They said that I didn't have a doctor assigned to me yet, so they couldn't give me anything yet. After over two hours?? A bit later, my fiancee went and checked again, and they told him that a room was being cleaned for me. Another hour and still nothing. By this point shift change had already happened. So we went up and asked the new staff about that room I was supposed to get. They said that there was nothing about me getting a room, and that I still didn't have a doctor assigned to me. So we left. Please note that the whole time I was confused, passing out, in pain, and barely making any kind of sense to anyone. It will be a while before I even think about going back here. Just be warned"
"My grandmother is 67 years old. She went in for a hemorrhoid, for pain medication They gave her liquid morphine following the liquid morphine. She started developing severe chest pains and when the nurse got told it took over 10 minutes to get a doctor back in the room as she’s crying and screaming in pain, she got kept overnight. I left my number for them to call if any problems was discovered and I come in the next morning to her on an oxygen machine and her oxygen levels drop drastically. Very unprofessional doctors was very fidgety and red eyed. If I was you take your family somewhere else my Opinion this hospital doesn’t even deserve one star"
"I came to the ER with severe lower stomach pain and vomiting bile non stop, even throwing up in the little green bags they give you sitting out in the lobby around a bunch of other patients waiting to be seen. I filled up 9 of those little green puke bags sitting waiting to be taken back. I waited in the lobby over 12 hours puking my guts out non stop before I was finally taken back. Turns out my gallbladder had stones and poll-ups and was on the verge of rupturing the entire time. I was told I needed emergency surgery to remove my gallbladder. They had no rooms available so I had to stay in an er room for 3 days before I got a room so finally after 4 days in the hospital I finally got to have my so called “emergency surgery” to remove my gallbladder. Was there a total of 7 days. Not the best experience they’re just too understaffed and half of the staff act like they could care less about you. Now I did have a couple really great nurses that helped make the experience a little better but all in all if you think you’re dying don’t come to fort sanders because they’ll let you wait over 12 hours and die in there waiting room… And don’t waste your breath asking the front desk if they know how long the wait is going to be they’ll tell you they’re not allowed to give that information out… I did notice that if you have really good insurance that will pay for most of your visit they get those patients in much faster regardless of the seriousness of injury/illness."
