"Dr. Barker is an insurance fraud. She orders sleep tests which are NOT MEDICALLY NECESSARY. Many if the tests can be done at home (home sleep test) but she will not order that because they don't pay her enough. She repeats multiple test which are not needed. The daytime test is a test for narcolepsy. This is a very rare disorder and she orders this test excessively.She is a scam and a fraud. She is what is wrong with healthcare. Please, please report her to your insurance company for fraud, waste and abuse."

"Dr. Barker is the worst example of medical care in the US. I was referred to her and underwent a test and the test results were inconclusive. Dr. Barkers solution was to give me the exact same test again. In the mean time Humana contacted her and staff to inform them that they would not cover the cost of either test. They claim they never received the email from Humana and insisted I take the $7000 test again. After the second test the results were inconclusive again and I received a $14,000 bill that insurance wouldn’t cover. Beware of her money before patients best interest approach."

"Was sent to Dr, Barker by the VA. She was very informative and really provided me what I needed to get my sleep disorder under control. She told me several things and when I asked her to document those things, she had her staff tell me she would not. I guess she thinks the VA will cut her off. I won't go back and will pay for sleep related appointments on my own from here on out with another doctor. Btw, last time I was there, her staff wanted to schedule me for a daytime study because they said I had indications of a daytime disorder. What a crock of mess and an attempt to get VA dollars. I have never had an issue falling asleep during the day. She also shared HIPAA related info on an employee of mine that was also a VA client that didn't return. She encouraged me to have him come back.....what a scam. I was warned by other medical professionals but gave her a chance. Kind of sorry I did, but still appreciate that I can get decent sleep now."

"I had my consult appointment today with Dr Barker and not only was it the most professional and informative Healthcare appointment I’ve had since moving to Tennessee. It was delightful and a very hopeful experience that gave me a BURST of renewed hope that our over all healthcare system in America today’s not ALL a lost cause! I felt like I was just one patient, an important individual patient, and for my entire appointment I felt like that I was the ONLY one she was dealing with, and we had all the time we needed. Most of all I could see/feel that she’s working in this area of medicine to really make a difference because has the knowledge, and SHE CARES! She would be my first and only choice as the doctor I’d want caring for my family and friends! Thank you Dr Barker and staff!"

"Dr. Barker is very nice and lovely. On my first appointment with her she brought her cute little puppy to comfort me while she was explaining what they were going to do. The staff there were also very nice. But it's kinda far for someone without a car :) It takes $7-$10 each ride from downtown there. But I wuldn't want to go anywhere else."
