"I work as an RN. I have had a particularly aggressive form of Dupuytren's disease with a resultant contracture for about 15 years now. Standard medical advice for years in the US has been to just wait till it gets bad enough for surgery, then do surgery. More recently Xiaflex injections and needle aponeurotomy have come out but little hope is held out due to a high recurrence rate. I was always curious as to whether shock wave therapy could help break up the scar tissue of Dupuytren's and it turns out it can.
