Welcome to the Lowell Volunteer Fire Department, proudly serving the community of Lowell, Indiana, and the surrounding areas since 1897. Located at 1331 East Commercial Avenue, Lowell, IN 46356, our dedicated team is committed to protecting the citizens and property of Eagle Creek, Cedar Creek, and West Creek Townships.

Founded by a group of concerned citizens, the Lowell Volunteer Fire Department has a rich history of service and dedication. Since our first meeting on October 5, 1897, and the appointment of our first Chief, M.E. Nafus, our department has been a cornerstone of community safety. Over the past 122 years, only 22 individuals have had the honor of serving as elected Chief, a testament to our stable and committed leadership.

We operate as a not-for-profit corporation, guided by a Board of Corporate Officers and trustees, working in conjunction with the Town of Lowell to make decisions that best serve our community.

In addition to our emergency services, we proudly offer Lowell Volunteer Fire Department merchandise to show your support. Our black short-sleeve t-shirts feature the Maltese cross emblem, mirroring our uniforms. Available in adult sizes (small to 2XL) for $20 each and children's sizes (small to large) for $15 each, these shirts are a great way to show your pride in our department.

We are also a proud member of Project Lifesaver, a community-based program dedicated to public safety.
