Electrify America Charging Station

"Electrify America’s charging station at the Wawa in Newcastle is a standout experience, deserving of a full five stars. This well-designed station features five 350 kW chargers and one 150 kW charger, all in perfect working order. Plug-and-charge functionality worked seamlessly, making the process incredibly smooth. I was able to get a full charge without any issues. The facility itself is clean and well-maintained, with garbage cans conveniently located and an adequate area to walk the dog. The adjacent Wawa is just across the walk and offers a wide range of food options, clean restrooms, and a friendly, helpful staff. The entire area is well-lit and equipped with cameras, adding an extra layer of security. Overall, this station is an excellent spot for anyone needing a quick and reliable charge. Everything worked as it should, and the overall experience was top-notch. Highly recommended!"

"One of my favorite EA locations. Busy but lots of fast turnover every time I charged here. Big parking lot and a WaWa. What more can you ask for. Best spot to get in and out between DC and NYC"

"Its a level 3 CCS charger. They have about 6 or so Electrify America CCS Fastcharge chargers and numerous other Tesla chargers on the other side. It’s at a Wawa gas station, so it’s very convenient and safe. Worked well for the 2 times I went to charge a 2022 Kia EV6. I charged on Tuesday night (6/20/2023) at 10.00 pm and Wednesday evening (6/21/2023) at 6.00 pm. It wasn’t crowded at 10.00 pm on Wednesday but I had to wait for 15 minutes at 6.00 pm Wednesday evening as the lots were full. All stations were working both times. Very close to I-95 & I-495. Charged quickly. I used the Electrify America app and established a permanent account/profile to smooth out the process and save myself some unnecessary frustration. Using the debit/credit card as a guest is problematic on these EA chargers, at least it was for me and I ‘loaded’ my EA App with $60 with auto-load when amount falls to $5. I use the app to identify the ‘available charger’ and it works perfectly after I choose my charger and start charging. Would highly recommend."
