About the Business
Welcome to Blair Creek Preserve
Nestled at the base of the Kittatinny Ridge, Blair Creek Preserve is a serene natural sanctuary located in Northwestern New Jersey, near Newton. As the eastern anchor of Bobcat Alley, this expansive park forms a crucial part of a continuous greenway that connects the Appalachian and Highland mountain ranges. It seamlessly integrates with the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, creating a vast stretch of protected forested lands.
Spanning an original 480 acres, Blair Creek Preserve was established through the collaborative efforts of the Ridge and Valley Conservancy, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, and The Nature Conservancy (TNC). TNC continues to acquire additional land to expand the preserve, ensuring the protection of Blair Creek's headwaters. These waters are essential for trout fishing and providing clean drinking water downstream.
Visitors can explore a series of scenic trails that wind through deciduous forests, leading to beaver ponds, rocky streams, and expansive wetland meadows. The preserve is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts, offering sightings of breeding cerulean warblers and other nesting warblers that make the Kittatinny Ridge a renowned birding destination. Keep an eye out for signs of black bears and coyotes along the trails.
Blair Creek Preserve is open daily from dawn until dusk. To maintain the ecological balance, TNC collaborates with a local hunting club to manage deer populations sustainably.

Reviews
"This is a nice spot to get outside with a lake, ephemeral creek and easy walking path (some rocky areas but all flat). A great remnant of New Jersey forested wilderness--there aren't many left! In season, there is a stand of native rhododendrons that put on a pretty show."
"Beautiful nature preserve off the beaten track. Remember to pack out all of your trash!"
"Love this hidden gem in New Jersey!"
