"Probably the best church I've ever been a part of. Unfortunately our stint here was short as we are moving to Wildwood and is just too far away. In our short 3 months of being here my wife and I connected with many amazing and uplifting people through women's and men's groups. The Sunday services always left us thinking and moving in the right path towards God in the muddled world we live. We are very appreciative to have been a part of this great church for the short time we were in the area."
"This is an amazing church Both the building and the people who attend. We do a men's bible study group and are always treated as members of the family. Lots of outreach programs and definitely spreading the word and God's love"
"I attended Central Presbyterian as a guest for special events for almost 20 years, while also listening to their broadcast, "Worship at Central". Each event was a welcoming experience, but as a visitor, of course I was not familiar with the workings of the church. Three years ago, I began attending regularly, and have joined the church as a member, driving "across state lines" to do so! The pastor and staff are committed Christians who have a love of God and heart for the community. The Women's Ministry and Bible Studies are firmly based in the Word of God, and all people are welcome. The notion that this is a "wealthy, snobbish congregation" is utterly false. You will find nothing but loving fellowship, devotion to Christ and His Word, no matter your race, creed, or sex. ALL ARE WELCOME HERE! Most of all, you will grow in your understanding and knowledge of God and His Word, as written, unapologetically. If you are looking for a Bible-based place of worship, full of sinners saved by grace, this is the place for you! For as long as I live in the St. Louis Metro area, this will be my church home and family."
"We drive over an hour to attend this church. It is a Bible based church with a wonderful preacher, Clay Smith. The music is wonderful. Come visit, you'll feel the warmth of God's love here."
"Central Presbyterian Church was my church home during my College years (2010-2012) and I have attended several times since I've moved away. The sermons are often riveting emotionally or intellectually. There are often several events going on that you can get plugged into outside of the usual services. I liked that there was an evening service on Sundays; I preferred that small, intimate setting. The pastors were very theologically solid with an emphasis on the sufficiency and love of Christ (although a little heavy handed at times on our insufficiency and unworthiness ... not that there isn't truth to that, but I personally found that to be somewhat depressing sometimes. And it really depends on the pastor who's preaching, too.) The congregation is kind of divided between super friendly, Christ-seeking people and the other bit seems to be largely stand-offish ... so I'd say that if you don't like those ridiculously friendly churches and you'd like to sort of blend in and be an introvert this is a decent church for that. I think one of the hallmarks of this church is its effort to reach out to the community. There's a lot of outreach the church tries to do towards the poorer part of the community; namely the African-American population. They've really made an effort to start a dialogue on a lot of social justice issues. The worship is always incredible and I've seen it go through a lot of different phases. What drew me in was the unique jazz-style worship of Trio (the smaller Sunday evening service) in the past, but I've also heard remarkable bluegrass, folk, gospel and rock styles. Very classy, talented and moving worship that's largely departed from a lot of the showmanship-aimed rock concert style worship you get a lot of modern churches. Central Pres is a great church that I enjoyed being a part of for many years. I learned a lot, grew in faith, and made some great friends while I was there. I definitely recommend it to those who are searching for a great church."
