"Dr Eckelkamp was reasonably articulate and kind. We covered a number of my concerns after not having been to a primary care physician for several years. The visit came to a sudden end without having addressed one of my main reasons for the visit. There was no indication from the doctor that the visit was coming to and end and that we weren’t going to address this issue. When I asked about said issue he said “yeah, we don’t have time for that today” with one hand on the door. I expressed my concern to him on my way out in a calm and polite manner and he responded in kind but there was no accountability or effort to indicate that things could have been done differently. It seems like the role of the doctor to manage the time appropriately and if there’s concern about not being able to get through everything, that needs to be communicated, not avoided. The staff here is fantastic. I adore the receptionist who calls everyone “Love”."
"SSM reviews seem bias meaning they will only send surveys out when they felt u had a great experience. Never got one for Dr ecklekamp one of the most dissaccciated, disconnected non caring doctor, probably person I’ve met. He discriminated and racially profiled me since I walked it and was evident from his lack of allowing me to speak and saying well “ u have other docs” so I won’t get into those things when that’s why I came to him to help me with those things. Nothing got better not even his care. He only started to double down on what he will not do as a doctors vs literally anything to help. There is no way he treats everyone like this so this HAS to be him being a racist and covering his racism by employing mostly black women who are the cornerstone of his office but once u get to him, u then start to feel sorry for the workers wondering if he treats them as coldly as he does me a black person and if he shows u just how much he does NOT care about my then as much as he did me. There was me a filing with the MO board of arts on this. And I’m just hoping those women are ok bc his racism is sooo loud by how he speaks to u and his inability to want to help or go above an beyond anything that seems remotely complicated. Stl’s worst doctors. James nelson"
"I was seeing a different provider at this practice, an NP that I believe transferred to a different location. I came in with a cane and she scowled at me and made me walk up and down the halls with and without it as she watched as I was struggling to not fall over and be off balance. I was switched to Dr. Eckelkamp to take over as my new PCP. Upon my first meeting with him, he rushed through the appointment and made me feel like I was an annoyance being there in the office. When he reviewed my health history, he declared that I was “otherwise a healthy and active young woman, doing well for myself” which is half true. Although untrue. He then stated that I will likely grow out of this “phase” of my life and I appear well and labs are all normal and healthy. I have a chronic illness, nerve damage that damaged the right side of my brain permanently and often I walk with a cane (I’m in my mid twenties). I recently have gotten to a comfortable place in my “new normal” but still faint many times and take hard falls on my knees and arms. He knew all of this, or presumably so as I assumed my records were right in front of him. He chuckled as he said this statement and I sat there with my mouth wide open, blinking dumbfounded thinking he was joking, which I asked and he was not. He followed up with “is there anything else I can help with today?” I have seen many frustrating, uneducated, and hair-ripping specialists and physicians in my short lifetime, but this visit was in the top 3. I will not be returning."
"I loved Dr. Eckelkamp he was my family doctor and even helped me get my health together but unfortunately due some missed appointments I was dropped. Even tho I was gravely sick some appointments and couldn’t make it and due to car troubles can’t get a way some other times. I get it (i guess) he is great. Just policies I guess. Great doctor just don’t miss appointments i guess lol"
"Ecklekamp was the worst doctor I have ever experienced in my many years of life. The one and only time we met--he was in HUGE hurry--did not listen to me-- spent a VERY short time with me--and acted like a novice. He was RUDE, ABRUPT and DISRESPECTFUL. I REALLY FOUND HIM TO BE A LOSER... DON'T GO TO HIM !!!"
