"Common crooks is more like it. Got a verbal agreement to waive our credit score fee from them one day, and then they withheld the money from our deposit check when we ultimately didn't sign. Best yet, when we tried to argue with them to get it back, they called the cops on us to try to scare us away. Do not rent from these people unless you like supporting fraudulent businesses. Just an edit per the response from CRG here: My boyfriend and I didnt raise our voice once - we’re both young professionals and acted no differently than we would in a work meeting. We laughed a few times at the poor treatment and at how mad you were getting and asked for the owner to stop interrupting us when we tried to explain our POV (tough request, I know). The cops actually told us we should get a lawyer and sue you based on what they heard. Wasn’t worth the hassle in the end but dont fool yourself into thinking they were in your side :-) The real estate market is tough enough in the Boston area without people like you taking advantage of renters and I urge people to find anyone else to work with."
