"This last new year was the hardest in my life. However, I haven't gone through a hundredth of what I know is out there. I haven't visited this place since both my Grandparents passed, and I didn't really before. But this time, I biked through the biting wind, stomped the icy snow, climbed the steps, looked at those men, the grand statue. And I read, I felt, I breathed, I walked, and I sat. When I left, I left ready. Paying my respects, gathering my things. And before I left to see my friends, I saluted the flag sincerely."
"City officials too busy to attend Pearl Harbor Day memorial. Must have been busy with immigrants, the "arts" crowd, druggies, drunks, panhandlers, welfare types, phony intellectuals, strong "females" and other preferred notables."
"Such beautiful details on the statues!"
"This memorial appears to be a wonderful relic to earlier times when Pittsfield was booming. We took a moment to appreciate it on our morning walk. Stop and admire the statue. It's really terrific."
