"Less difficult than nearby Ice Glen Trail but still hilly. According to the website, visitors who walk the many steps to the top of the tower should be awarded with a view stretching “68 miles west to the New York Catskills, and 50 miles north to the Green Mountains in southern Vermont”. However, recent tree growth prevents visitors from seeing much of anything. The hills are a worthy challenge for those preparing for a more strenuous mountain hike, but not so fun for people hoping for a panoramic view. Additionally, I have not been able to find out who Laura was."
"Definitely worth a hike to the top! It is steeper than I expected, but the view was great."
"To start the only negative comment was that the GPS said we were there and we were not. Parking for maybe 8 cars. The markers in the woods for directions were nice and clear once you went over the bridge and entered the woods, which I didn’t know and turned left over the bridge. The walk was parallel with the water so It was lovely. Once back at bridge we entered and followed the signs for Lauras trail. The ground was wet and slippery at times on the leaves but I loved it anyway!! As for the tower…OMG a bit scary to climb but well worth the view! We went the end of September so it was a bit misting. Well worth it. Im having trouble uploading photos!!! Ill keep trying"
"This was an absolutely stunning hike. I enjoyed every second of it. Just enough to get you huffing and puffing a tad, but not all that bad. The lookout tower is such a great finish to the thing, but the trail up has such a nice variety to it with the pines, birches and other bits and bobs. It’s a few hours well spent with a unique prize in the form of an old fire tower at the top."
"Great hike with family of all ages. Some areas are rutted and steep but take your time to get to the tower."
