Reviews of Berkshire Botanical Garden
"So pretty here, even in the rain! I’d love to explore some other time if I’m ever in the area when it is sunny and not full of vendors for a harvest festival. I learned a few things and enjoyed seeing such diverse plant life. I also like the vegetable garden area and learned there are more types of tomatoes than I had realized! It was a quick walk through and I didn’t get to see it all but it was lovely anyway. I do hope to visit again someday."
"It is a beautiful place and well maintained. It's also easy to find and seems as though the parking would normally not be a problem. We were there the day before a Halloween festival, so parking was difficult due to a lot of vendor setup activity. There is quite a bit to see, and although there is a map, which I found generally helpful, it is probably just as fun to wander around. In general, everything seemed to be labeled well, which is great if you really want to know what you are looking at and don't want to have to constantly consult a pamphlet. The gardens cross a road, and while there is a crosswalk, you do need to be careful as it seemed that some were driving a little too fast for the road. It's probably best to do one side and then the other to minimize road crossings. The visitors center has drinks and snacks and a small gift shop. We did not shop but stopped in to pay, ask some questions, and get a map. As far as the fee is concerned, the recommended donation is $18/adult. I walked away feeling that was just a little high, but it's likely that was a me problem for two reasons. First, we were pressed for time, so I didn't feel as though I spent enough time to "get my money's worth." Second, the $18 is the suggested donation, and I felt no pressure to pay that amount."
"Beautiful site. Staff are very helpful instructing guests on accessing the audio guide on your phone. Gardens are on both sides of the road. It takes about 2 hours to leisurely see everything. There are lots of places to sit and relax while enjoying the gardens."
"My wife and I are regular visitors to botanical gardens in different cities — the Berkshire Botanical Garden stands out as very special and a “must-see” for visitors to the area. The complex itself is bifurcated by Highway 102. There is visitor parking on one side only (presumably the older portion of the Garden). Interestingly, they have made this condition a distinctive advantage, providing two distinctive types of landscapes. There is also a store selling books and merchandise, an education center building (with accessible toilets), and an art gallery/library/conference building. Plenty of seating and of different types for individuals, couples, small groups."
"There was so much to see! We spent hours exploring the many gardens in the sunshine and during an unexpected light rain which we waited out in a lovely arbor. There were so many beautiful flowers even in mid-August."
