About the Business
Welcome to the Humboldt Area Foundation, where we are dedicated to creating a Thriving, Just, Healthy, and Equitable Region. Located at 363 Indianola Road, Indianola, California, we are committed to fostering positive change across Humboldt, Trinity, Del Norte, and Curry counties. Our vision is realized through four key decade-long goals: enhancing Racial Equity, supporting Thriving Youth and Families, preserving Healthy Ecosystems and Environments, and fostering a Just Economy.
In July, we proudly distributed nearly $200,000 in grants to various groups within our region, demonstrating our commitment to community development and support. Our Summer Youth Partnership grant program has funded summer programs and projects benefiting approximately 10,414 youth, with grants ranging from $500 to $2,000.
We are also excited to share news of the Klamath Dam Removal progressing ahead of schedule, and our Grantee Spotlight highlights a $330,000 grant supporting California Trout’s new monitoring project on the Klamath River. These initiatives are part of our ongoing efforts to make a tangible impact through the Klamath River Fund.

Reviews
"Always clean and well run."
"Great place to attend a training workshop!"
"Great place to hike through the Trilliums in the Redwoods."
"It is the Area 1 or 2 AGENCY on aging. They will not advise or assist anyone with medi-cal (or, I assume) Partnership, which is also medi-cal. They fund the senior lunches. My coat was stolen there and the server/cook in Arcata bullied and yelled at me (I'm in my 70's) for getting on the list for lunch at 8:15, fifteen minutes late."
"Great venue for meetings, very calm and picturesque. If your meeting is early on the weekend, call them on the last business day to ensure that someone will open the gate ahead of time for pre-meeting setup."
