"The most beautiful things! I want to live in this shop!"
"I was in LOVE with Chelsea's store for years. It was my number 1 destination when I needed a special piece to wow a new client, as I am a private chef for UHNW Clientelle. Today I ventured out in the storm to her boutique to find a note on the door welcoming a phone call to her, and if she could, would open the store. She answered from the back room and to my delight opened the store. I was determined to find something wonderful for an interview coming up in 2 days!! I did go about gathering as many options as I could ranging in price from $150 to $650. Unfortunately, after trying on everything and really stressing about not having anything fit properly I gave up, feeling quite discouraged indeed. I went to the counter to purchase a pair of pants only. I received a look and a comment from Chelsea that shamed me to my core. She made me feel as though I was trash! Purchasing her expensive items was some kind of an obligation, apparently. I had no idea I was having a "personal styling session"...I had no idea how she felt. I thought when you shopped at a retail store you had free will to try things on and if they did not make you feel wonderful and happy to spend a $1,000...you were under no pressure. Not the case at Captain oko design...Chelsea made it very clear to me I was under obligation and I have never in my life had such an encounter with a retail store owner.....BE AWARE OF HER POLICY BEFORE YOU ARE SHAMED FOR NOT SPENDING LOADS OF $$$$ .....Shame on you Chelsea! I will never step foot in your establishment again.........this is the text I received from Chelsea. .... You came to my shop and and had a private shopping session with me. ..for nearly two hours, my attention to personally help you procure new apparel and style yourself- We are not an entertainment space. We are a clothing store and we sell to our clientele. We make time for people with heart investment. Even made a cup of tea for you as you said you loved tea. I graciously opened my door, gave you one on one attention-on an off day due to weather-essentially making time for you to enjoy our gallery and shop our collection. I am a small business owner and design professional. I would not ask anyone to provide me that kind of service without supporting them in purchasing a percentage of what was tried on. There were about 12-16 items tried on and left in the fitting room. Jewelry left out-shoes- Maybe this is normal for you...but we are not a department store-we work carefully to give the best customer service possible. I have personally dressed many women for years/ and rarely if ever have I had someone leave without supporting my effort, time and business a more meaningful way. I believe so many items you tried were amazing on you. It seemed you were finding beautiful pieces. The time I invested in you felt disrespected when you said nothing "worked for you". I found a sea of clothing left in the fitting room and you were only buying one clothing item. I'm sorry you felt shamed. I make it an imperative to support small women's business's and value peoples time and what heart they invest into their work. I did not feel respected for the time I gave you today. What an unfortunate outcome. .....Chelsea I texted her after I returned home to tell h"
"I have tried but am not able to remove a posted review but would like to add the email I received from the owner responding to my initial review: "Hello Nicole. I am writing to let you know we’ve updated our gallery dog policy since your last visit. Customers can now bring dogs in as long as they take responsibility for any damage due to accidents that might occur. We’ve had four dog incidents where the carpets we sell were damaged by dogs…hence why we were asking our customers to loop them out front to protect our one of a kind Moroccan carpets. I apologize my employee may have not greeted you with utmost joy. I listened to you when you expressed your chagrin. I also remember that you said you would take down the negative review after we spoke. We’ve revised our dog policy to accommodate our many clients and pet owners such as you. We are sad to see that the poor review is still posted on google. We would be very grateful for the removal of your negative comment, and hope you’ll re-visit our gallery with renewed spirit. Thank you, Chelsea Cooper Gallery Owner""
"Was so grateful to come across this incredible destination of a shop in Pt. Reyes. It is truly a cosmic universe of sorts, evoking the tranquility of Kyoto tea gardens, with boundless inspiration from floor to ceiling. I recommend coming in simply to experience the craft and care put into the handmade goods and garments that are so perfectly curated. Most likely you will come away with a token or two to revel in life with."
"I absolutely LOVE this place. Part museum, part art gallery, part boutique. It is a must attend whenever I am in Point Reyes, and the spot my mother-in-law and husband always go to buy gifts and gift certificates for me for the holidays!"
