Reviews
"I wouldn't recommend this as a scenic walk. People seem to camp along the trail and car camp in the parking lot. At times there's a lot a garbage around so it feels gross. It does seem to be a good area to walk dogs. There's a nice open field that dogs like to run around. I don't have a dog so I didn't rate it on that feature. It looks like there are some attempts to clean things up and improve the area. The dogs off leash can sometimes seem sketchy depending on the size of the dog. There is a bench in the more open area that has a nice view out towards the bottoms and ocean."
"Never hiked here, but we did park here. Nice meadow view. Looked like it could have been a nice trail. We are reluctant to go on trails because we are scared to run into homeless, but I'm sure people can have a nice experience here & walk their dog."
"Beautiful views from the bluff. The park is quite small. On the down side, too many homeless people leave trash all over, including feces. Pitiful!"
"Nice short walk (about .5 miles round trip) with a spectacular view of the Arcata Bottoms, the ocean, and you can even see Humboldt Bay from here! Not to be missed! It only gets 4 stars due to the shortness of the walk and while it has never been a problem for me, there is a homeless situation here. If you are traveling through on 101 this could be a perfect dog walk stop. It is halfway between the Central Ave. exit and the School road exit"
"Homeless man sleeping on the trail didn't bother me but I had my husband close by but I dont suggest going alone to early or to late in the day"
