"I attended the Harbor for about 2 years before moving out the area. I unfortunately lived a bit far from the church, so wasn't able to be more fully part of the life of the community, but even still I had such a love and comfort in being present in the church. Finding a church that authentically strives to stay close to God and close to His Word is rare, especially one that is willing to admit that pursuit can be messy and imperfect. "I’ve been attending this church regularly since last June. Overall it’s been an enriching experience in building community and a welcoming place for new members. Services officially begin at the 10am on Sunday mornings, but you’ll find that people will continue to trickle in over the next hour. Often there will be just a few people to start the service, but it often fills up over the course of the next couple hours. The demographic of this church is relatively young, which is heartwarming to see. At a time when many young people’s hearts and desires are drifting towards everything else but the One True God, it is incredibly inspiring to see a place of worship not only attended by young people but nearly entirely led by them as well. Having said this, I’ve noticed the doors of this church are open to every one of any age or any color. As for the structure of a typical Sunday it looks like the following: Worship (~30 mins) Announcements & Prayer for Kids (~10 mins) Sermon (45mins -1h) Closing Worship (~10 mins) Fellowship / Catching up (0mins - 1h) This church has an incredibly talented worship team that will elevate your soul and reorient your heart towards God with thoughtful songs of worship within the first few minutes of service. There’s also a thriving kids ministry filled with many young kids. There are passionate ministry leaders who give their all to these kids, and it’s been great to see not only a young church, but one that is shepherding the next generation in God’s word. The sermons are mostly preached by the lead Pastor, Pastor Israel, but once every six to eight weeks or so there is a guest Pastor that will share the Word. The structure and Bible-saturation of the preaching varies from Sunday to Sunday and Pastor to Pastor. But there’s something edifying everyone can take away in each service. Finally there’s time to socialize and grab coffee at the end. The Pastor is very approachable during this time and invites new members to seek him out. The key to making the most out of the fellowship and actually feeling a sense of belonging is to give it an honest try and show up for a couple months. Then a natural comfort will develop with certain people that will create the foundation for an enriching community life anchored around collective growth in the knowledge of Christ."
