About the Business

Welcome to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, a vibrant and welcoming place of worship located at 3290 Loma Vista Road, Ventura, California. As a cornerstone of the community, we are committed to fostering spiritual growth and providing a space for reflection, fellowship, and service. Our church is not just a building; it is a community where individuals and families come together to worship, learn, and support one another.
Join us on Friday mornings at 7:00 am at the Black Bear Diner in Ventura for our Men's Group meetings, led by Miles Sexton and Larry Myers. These gatherings offer an opportunity to study and discuss the weekly lectionary while enjoying fellowship and conversation about life, current events, and personal joys and challenges. We also dedicate time to offer prayers for those in need and engage in community service projects, such as our renowned St. Patrick’s Day Dinner Party.
Additionally, under the guidance of Suzanne McCombs, our church actively observes Holy Week, providing a solemn time for reflection as we prepare for Easter. We invite you to be part of our diverse and dynamic community, where you can explore your faith, engage in meaningful discussions, and participate in various service activities.
For more information about our services and events, please contact us at (805) 643-5033. We look forward to welcoming you to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, where faith and community come together.
Reviews
"When we moved out here due to my getting hired at Port Hueneme, we wanted to find a new church home and preferably Episcopal. St. Paul's beat out one of the other ones since it's closer to our apartment. With gasoline at just below $4 a gallon, distance is one of the factors that play a role in many of our decisions."
"I have had the pleasure of being a member of the St. Paul’s congregation for the past 18 years. The congregation is full of people who are living out God’s message of love in their communities. Everyone is so welcoming, it doesn’t matter where you are in your journey of faith or your background, here you will find folks who have a deep desire to know one another better. St. Paul’s is the first Abolitionist congregation in Ventura County, this speaks to their passion for justice and commitment to looking out for their community as well, as their support for many other ministries. There is always something new that anyone can get involved with, as this space is full of people who strive to live more loving, meaningful and spiritually connected lives."
"Wonderful community. Very kind, compassionate, and supportive people. They offer many programs in addition to their services, such as children's and youth programs that include art and music, tai chi classes, as well as provide space for outside community programs, like Kindermusic and Boy Scouts. They are in the midst of a growth project, so there are many exciting ways to participate!"
"I've been a member of St. Paul's since about 1990. It's a remarkable community...warm and welcoming. I appreciate the friendly people, the dynamic preaching, the amazing music ministry and the great physical space (which includes a labyrinth, rose garden, fellowship hall, etc.). There are so many ways to get involved. It's an authentic group of people who are making a difference in the world."
"I’ve been a member of St Pauls Ventura for about 5 years. It is the most loving church with an open, inclusive, and compassionate congregation that is full of love for others and truly goes out into the world to help others. Their outreach ministries are wonderful and really make a difference: family to family serving homeless, Be the Church: various collections for those less fortunate including homeless animals, they coordinate with other charities to enhance their programming like Project Understanding, Rotary and Soroptimist... these are just a few! They have a strong, growing music ministry that has all genres of music from classical to spirituals, contemporary and chant. The ministry hosts community concerts. They have a children’s music class in addition to their other children’s ministry. The opportunities to find a reason and place to serve are endless. It’s very welcoming, but not pushy. The church is a low-episcopal church in formality. It has both Rite 1 at 8 am with music lead by organ and cantor. Rite 2 is at 10:15 is with choir and organ and piano with contemporary language. The reception coffee hour is fun and family friendly. They are an abolitionist congregation, serving and doing their part to omit modern slavery. Rev Susan is a wonderful rector along with Deacon Ed. Teens/youth like to serve as acolytes! All the sermons are inspiring and make me want to be a better person and serve God more fully. I have made such wonderful friends and this church has make a difference in my life and my family’s!"
