"I didn’t expect to be leaving a rental car place a five star review. I have rented from several other companies and usually have a less than great experience. I was fully expecting this to be a headache at LAX, but to my surprise, Fox was actually pretty great! I had a morning flight that arrived around 8am, so I think I got there right as they were opening for the day. I was able to go right to the counter and had my car (a Toyota!) in 10 minutes. They let me pick my car, which was nice. I was surprised how quick that was. The clerk was nice too. Returning the car was also a breeze. Check-in was very quick and seamless and the shuttle picked me up after only a few minutes. Your mileage may vary (maybe it’s more hectic mid-day, etc), but I was very happy with my experience. Fox will be my first choice going forward."
"Not the best experience for renting a car. They don't have enough shuttles going to/from LAX, it took 45+ minutes to finally get the shuttle. After we arrived, it took another 30 minutes to get our car, we were told the car wasn't ready even though I made a reservation. The entrance for the rental return was also hard to get to because it is on a small frontage road and you will definitely miss it the 1st time and be forced to drive around the block. The cars were also kind of rough, they make you fill out a ton of paperwork to make sure they're car has damage documented. Go to Sixt, Hertz, or any other rental car."
"Expect to get what you paid for. Cost was almost half that of major brands. Shuttle from the airport looked like something Hertz disposed of 20 years ago, but it ran. Wait to get car wasn't too long, they had several agents behind the desk. First car that we selected had ants crawling all over the glove box. Second car had a nail in the tire that we only discovered shortly after pulling out from their lot, getting a low pressure warning. Ended up paying $15 to have the tire patched since they had no more cars available. They refused to reimburse me. Return of the car was reasonably fast. If you can find a deal from another agency even for a few more dollars, go for it."
"We waited over 45 mins in line to get our car. The location was hot and stuffy and it was overall dreadful. When I got to the counter, I said to the sales person “Man, that took over 45 mins.” His response was “For you and everyone else. That’s what happens when you make a reservation at a busy time!” I then said “Oh, ok, I guess it’s my fault then and not that you all aren’t prepared for this amount of clientele when you know you have this amount of reservations booked!” He proceeded to say “I’m not sure what to tell you.” The car was dirty inside. Kids hand and finger prints on the back windows and the trunk windows. There were grease spots from food on the center console and on the back of the two front seats. The only good experience we had was the shuttle ride and dropping off the car. I do not recommend renting a car from Fox to my family and friends."
"What a JOKE! First, It took an hour to wait in line to check in. Second, a minivan I reserved was not available so a representative suggested to upgrade it to a hybrid minivan, costing $100 plus fee more or I had to wait another 30+ minutes for the next possible available minivan. Third, it took another 30+ minutes waiting time to receive the upgraded minivan, in contrast to what the employee informed that it should be fast to receive since I upgraded to the available vehicle. Fourth, not long after leaving LA, the rental car was stopped in the middle of highway, giving a warning sign on a dashboard that a vehicle will stop soon. We were stranded in Compton, waiting for a tow truck to be towed for an hour, taking Uber back to the rental car office at LAX, waiting another 45 minutes to swap another hybrid minivan, then we took off LA finally. I attempted to talk to a manger but he is not available on site, none of employees was willing to assist, saying that it is not of their business to deal with customer service."
