"For John who wrote the only review listed in this site, you visited the wrong island for shells. Sanibel island is the right one for shells.The island have shells all sizes and colors the year long. Captiva should be nice for other attractions but not for shells. I did not visit that island yet but spoke to the right local residents and found out what I wish to hear. Should go there sometime next week for the only purpose to see those shells and swim too. 09/23/2017"
"We recently spent a week on Captiva Island and thoroughly enjoyed the setting and the wildlife; however, we were VERY disappointed in the shelling after all the promotion we had read about it being such a great place to find shells. All the pictures we had seen showed lots of shells just lying on the beach. We did not find this to be true. We even got up early and late to search for shells but was disappointed. It was a great place otherwise for a vacation."
