"have a unit at a1 storage on chiquita in cape coral florida had the unit for 5 years then one day out the blue i get a call we are no longer going to take your money and auction your stuff off and refused payment told them i dont live thair was told i dont care wouldnt take payment and now everything is lost becouse of them it was all my dead parents stuff family pics important papers and airlooms verry upset about this also had my parents wedding album in thair from when they got married to many non replaceable stuff all they had to do was take payment with late fee and everything would be fine DONT USE THEM IF YOU DO GET OUT WORST PLACE EVER Ross will lie to you.... THROW YOU OUT OVER A 20 DOLLER LATE FEE........... DONT GO THAIR DONT DO THAT TO YOUR SELF STAY AWAY....."

"At first thought this was a fantastic storage option. I needed this for 5ish weeks while we located from one home to another in Cape Coral. At initial sign up the ladies were so nice and said they may even prorate it a few days as I got closer to closing depending on the time line. I arrive to the unit and oddly there is still boxes of other people stuff in it. They take care of it and the next day I can move my stuff in. Then.. I get a letter in the mail regarding the second month payment coming due. The LITERAL second I opened the letter I clicked my Bank of America bill app and sent the full payment. Didn’t care if they couldn’t prorate. Just wanted to be paid. I get an email a week later saying that the ups hasn’t delivered yet. I log onto my bank app and it says check is in route and to be delivered on Friday . It’s Wednesday. Nope. They locked me out of the unit and told me that would not work. Even though I am showing them the actual check has been mailed and have the Bank of America tracking showing this. They said nope my movers are locked out. I tried communicating but it was the opposite of helpful. Imagine explaining and instead are just repeatedly sent a contract instead of common freaken sense and listening to the customer at all. I ended up sending double payment and said to just keep the check. If they’re that hard up on money. They MUST need it more than I do. 1star. Do not recommend. Do not come here. Make sure you choose ANYONE except this team."

"I used them in 2014 with no issues. But I am so upset and disappointed with this company right now. At first everything was fine. I got and paid for what I needed ( in door AC 7x10) and paid for it mid week. After loading up the uhaul and bringing everything over, I didn’t have access to the unit. I was not given a code to enter. I called and of course they were closed as it was a Saturday. A lady came by to make a payment I was hoping she could let me in but she couldn’t, she wasn’t in the same area to have a a code to get it, and she could not make her payment. I called again and left a message to let them know I can’t get in and am forced to seek another facility. I had called another storage company to rent a whole new unit. So now I’m in a new contract with another facility. I did leave another message stating I had to rent another facility as I had to return the uhaul before 3pm. And since it’s a holiday weekend (Labor Day), A1 will not be opened until Tuesday. So yes I am expecting a full refund as it is not my fault I had NO access to my unit. I will say, when Jenean assisted me she was very nice and very helpful. I appreciate that (that’s why I gave 2 stars) but she failed to grant me access to the unit. I even tried making up codes to get in like last 4 digits of SS, tried date of birth and tried the unit number it’s self to no avail. I’m NOT saying DON’T use them. I am just saying make sure you can have access to your unit when making your arrangements, mistakes happen."

"After renting for three years they charged me for an entire month even though I only needed about 10 days. Impersonal, generally grumpy older lady at the desk makes me feel like I would have been better served by renting someplace friendlier. The large units are hampered by the center column effectively negating the benefits of the full 20 feet width. The smaller units have bug problems as I found a lot of bugs underneath my previously fumigated antiques. Water commonly runs in under the doors of some units during summer storms. The facility seems to have no security other than the surly personnel riding past in golf carts repeatedly without saying anything or responding to greetings. I can't recommend these people or their place, there are many others more suitable."
