"It started as a great day but this parking violation left very bitter after taste. Be aware future visitors, the parking enforcement will ruin your day. If you don't give them a reason they will find one."
"Terrible parking enforcement. Not sure what part of the city budget depends on milking tourists for thousands in parking tickets every day. I witnessed one woman asking an officer, "Can I not park there?" (On her own property but facing the "wrong" direction). He said, "You can, you're just getting a ticket for it." We will not be back."
"Parked our golf cart for five minutes to grab a few items at the local farmers market. Apparently, helping out the locals costs an additional $50 for parking "within 30 feet of a stop sign." There we no "no parking signs" and we parked in a spot where a golf cart was previously parked. I appealed and was told I should know all parking ordnances for the city...even though we are only visiting for the week. I can understand a warning for a first-time violation or a $10 ticket, but $50 is egregious and totally unacceptable. WILL DEFINITELY STAY ON A DIFFERENT ISLAND NEXT TIME AND TELL EVERYONE I MEET WHAT A SCAM ANNA MARIA ISLAND IS RUNNING."
"Giving parking tickets to commercial vehicles (delivery trucks, landscaping crews, ect.) When there isn't adequate space to park with all 4 tires off road is shady. Not offering a solution to a problem they created should be criminal. Parking permits for people working on the island should be a no brainer."
"You people wanted all these tourist to come to your island and spend money on it. You keep going with all the unnecessary stupid parking tickets out there you going to run everybody off and they gonna go somewhere else and then your property value is going to go in the toilet, I was barely parked on the pavement yesterday at slims restaurant and I got a $50 parking ticket and I’ve lived here for 20 years. I’m going to go ahead and pay the ticket because I’m gonna give them a piece of my mind so I can tell you is I would go somewhere else and not come to Ana Maria Island because they’re going overboard on their tickets , what they should be doing is building more parking access for beach goers cause what’s happening is these beachgoers are parking in the parking lots and parking spaces of businesses like slims restaurant"
