"Phoenix children’s genetics was amazing with scheduling my daughter but with my son they have not been so great. My sons doctor sent the referral in at the same time as my daughters and the last 6 weeks i have been calling every week and they keep telling me a different story. Last week i talked to someone and they said they will contact my sons doctor to get it fixed then this week i got the same rude lady and she told me she never said that and trying to tell me i am lying. The scheduling lady is the rudest person ever and i don’t know how she is still working there. I love the doctors there but if i have to take my son somewhere else that will help me then i will."
"The appointment was a waste of time. We drove 2 hours and 40 mins to come To Phoenix just to be told we have to wait it out. The doctor did not seem eagered enough to figure out what’s going on with our child. These episodes he continues to have is dangerous. The doctor scheduled us out 3 months from now just to do a basic genetic consultation. Even though she is the genetic doctor we are coming back to see. The doctor just really did not seem interested enough to help us figure out what’s going on. The fact we drove so far out to be told NOTHING NEW is so inconsiderate for working families. The doctor recommended we wait until the “incident” happen again and take our child to the lab to get tested however she did not ask if that option is even feasible. With me and dad being working class individuals if his incident happens on a weekday we are unable to do what she recommended. This appointment was just overall a waste of time."
"My son's PCP referred us to the genetics dept at PCH. The process of attempting to get an appointment was a nightmare, but we finally got one scheduled. The night before the appointment, I got a text that siblings could not attend. This did not give me enough time to schedule childcare before our 9am appointment the next morning. I called as soon as the office opened to see what I needed to do. The receptionist was extremely rude and proceeded to tell me that *I* scheduled my son's appointment incorrectly, and that I shouldn't have even been allowed to schedule it because it hadn't gone through review. As if any of that is within my control. She informed me that she would not reschedule the appointment. 10 minutes later, she called me back to inform me that the referral from my son's PCP was incomplete and they had requested more information- again, I am not sure how I was supposed to know this with 0 communication from PCH. If I hadn't called that morning, I would have driven an hour for an appointment that apparently never should have been scheduled. We will be seeking care elsewhere."
"This review is for the genetics client at Phoenix Children Mercy Gilbert. They initially gave us an appointment after 4 months for genetics consulting. I show up there on time to discuss the results of my son’s genetic tests only to tell me that they can’t see me because my son is not there. Mind you they never told us before that he needed to be there. They also tell me that they don’t have his diagnosis even though they never asked for it. They said since it’s a “no show” (even though I was literally there on time) their next appointment is in 6 months. Extremely rude staff. What a joke of a clinic this is."
"Appointments are booked more than 6 months in advance. I had one scheduled for my daughter for next week and they just changed all their appointments to video calls. We need an in person appointment so we had to reschedule and now we have to wait over 6 months again. All of the doctors we've worked with are great but Phoenix Children's as an organization is a joke."
