"I ordered my glasses through the AVESIS website, the production company they use is UVP. and it was the worst experience I have ever had. The frames I ordered were small, so as soon I as placed the order, I emailed them to change the size to medium. Almost 5 emails later and 5 days later, the glasses have almost shipped and despite going back and forth, they did not change and different people from customer services will answer you irrelevant answers as if you are talking to an alien and no one will actually understand what you want. This is probably the worst company I have ever dealt with. PLEASE DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!!!!!!!"
"I can never get a hold of someone, impossible to work with. Id rather pay the full exam price every year than to deal with them. My account is also locked and there webpage never loads."
"I’ve been waiting over a month for them to unlock my account. So as of now I cannot login to my online account. I’ve been emailing and calling to no avail. I’m not sure Avesis is a legit company. Most company’s do a text message or have an account recovery procedure. Will be contacting my HR benifits through my company and ask them what they suggest."
"They are my dental coverage provider. I needed work which required pre-approval. Avesis emailed the provider their agreement to cover the required treatment. Then after I received the care and paid my share, I was contacted by the provider's office advising me that Avesis, after having committed to the coverage in writing, had disallowed the items in question, leaving me responsible for an additional $700 in fees. Needless to say, I am filing a formal complaint with the DC Healthcare Ombudsman. Avesis is not a trustworthy company. Avoid them like the plague. Update - 6/23 - note the response from Avesis, purportedly from the owner (?). These people are definitely scum. But I have to thank them for reminding me to pursue my claim against them. There should be a way to award stars in negative numbers."
"There is no documentation stating if you get a contact lens fitting you will only be able to use your vision insurance for contacts. I wanted to get both glasses and contacts, but have insurance pay for glasses. Unfortunately that was not able to happen because they would only cover contacts."
