"I should have known not to have work on my Jeep done by this shop when I first dropped of my Jeep. I called to explain what work I would like to be done and get an estimate for it. After getting the quote, I said that sounds like a fair price and asked when would be a good time to come and drop of my Jeep to have the work done. They said whenever and I told them that I would come by and drop off my Jeep on Tuesday. I arrived early Tuesday morning. When I got there no one at the shop knew what I was there for. The guy at the desk made a call and said I'd have to make a payment for half the amount I was quoted for. This was never mentioned to me. I asked why I was never told about having to pay half and was told it was because the guy I talked to didn't think I was coming. I had to leave and come back with the money. They removed and replaced the cam shaft in my 2005 Jeep Wrangler. The job was done quickly for a reasonable price, but after getting the Jeep back I noticed several things were not reinstalled. First thing not reinstalled was a couple bolts that connect the inner fender well to the grille. That wasn't that big of a deal but they also didn't reinstall the heat shield that goes between the intake manifold and the fuel rail. This protects the injector from heat soak which causes misfires. I had to go back to the shop to pick up the heat shield. While I was there they put the bolts back in to connect the inner fender well to the grille. Lastly, they failed to reconnect the ground strap to the engine block which has caused false check engine lights. I would not recommend this shop!"
"Ricardo the owner is very attentive, thorough, professional and an overall nice guy! That goes the same for the professional all star members of his team who are incredibly knowledgeable and meticulous with their work. I will continue to bring whatever issues I may have to A&N no hesitation! Depending on your problem it's a bit pricey but when you take in account you're more than likely dealing with an engine problem it's warranted. Very fair and honest and makes sure you're good to go!"
"I went through BBB to get a call back. I never received one. I had to call them. They seemed very busy on the phone, couldn't get too much info out of them... didn't seem too friendly or caring, just seemed in a hurry to hang up. I do understand that they can give better estimate when they Can see the car/engine in person, but they could use some phone skills."
"Stay away from this shop. Disrespectful of your time and they think you’re an idiot or in other words, they are dishonest crooks. Let’s run the number. Called ahead to ask if they can helacoil a stud into the exhaust manifold, they said, sure no problem bring it down. So I drove all the way down. Guy came out and quoted me $480 for the job. I asked why? And his answer was, that’s just my price. But here are the facts: 1. A machine shop quoted $30 - $50 to do the job but they wouldn’t do it while the engine is in the van. 2. To drop an engine costs $400 So that comes out to $430 - $450, still like $30 LESS than these guys quoted. Thing is they don’t have to drop the engine, just remove three bolts off the muffler, this is a rear engine 86 Vanagon, it’s like legos. Even for the most inexperienced mechanic to remove a muffler would be max 30 mins and to helacoil would be MAX 1hour, with 2 cigarette breaks and a coffee. And trained mechanic would do the job in an hour, which would bring this shop’s hourly to $480/hr, as there are literally NO PARTS INVOLVED! All labor. When I asked the guy to itemize the quote, like what are the costs here so I can understand what I’m paying for, the guy said I’m paying for his rent, $5000. So basically, a one hour job will cost 10% of this guy’s rent. What a joke. These guys are crooks, no other way to put it. And all this bs could’ve been told me over the phone when I called, so they wasted MY TIME. Obviously a shop that will screw you when they can and would never honor a warranty with attitude like that."
"A and N rebuild my 351 engine for my bronco. They did a great job. It's been almost a year since the rebuild has been done, with no problems and the engine is still running strong. They didn't waste any time getting started and had the job done when they said it would be completed. Management was friendly and informative. A great bunch of guys that deserve your work.
