Pinellas Bike Trail
About the Business
Welcome to the Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail, a scenic and vibrant linear park located in the heart of Dunedin, Florida. Nestled along the historic corridor from St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs, this multi-use trail spans 47 miles and offers a unique greenspace for walking, jogging, skating, and biking. Whether you're a local resident or a visitor exploring the beautiful Gulf Coast, the Pinellas Trail is a must-visit destination for outdoor enthusiasts.
Managed by Pinellas County Parks & Conservation Resources, the trail is meticulously maintained to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all. We are proud to offer our community and visitors convenient online access to a variety of services, including permitting, inspection scheduling, and fee payments, available 24/7.
Please be aware that between January and June 2024, Duke Energy will be conducting tree trimming and pole installations along sections of the trail, resulting in intermittent closures from south of Keystone Road to south of Ridgeline Blvd. For your safety, please use the sidewalk on the east side of East Lake Road and cross only at designated intersections.
The Pinellas Trail is equipped with nearly 700 location markers at 200- to 300-foot intervals, providing a precise reference for emergency services. In case of an emergency, trail users can provide the unique marker number to a 9-1-1 operator for rapid assistance.
Electric bicycle enthusiasts will be pleased to know that e-bikes are welcome on the trail and are classified as bicycles under Florida law, enjoying the same rights and responsibilities.
For more information on local attractions, please visit the tourism site Visit St. Pete/Clearwater, the county's main resource for visitors, located at 12520 Ulmerton Road, Largo, FL 33774. Reviews
"They need to repair the trail as it is all bumpy and not smooth. Then you have the marathon bikers taking over and pushing people off the path. There's also occasional trail bullies that are nasty. The trail while convenient isn't very accommodating."
"Great paved bike and walking trail. What an asset to all of the communities it runs through. We rode from Palm Harbor to downtown Dunedin. There were numerous crossings and bridges. It was a great ride, with lots to see along the way. There are plenty of stops including parks, restaurants, bars, wineries and breweries to name a few. We really enjoyed the ride."
"Biked from Weaver Park to sunset point and back. Great day trip! Many places beside the trail to eat or shop and people on the trail all day. A busy section with many car crossings, goes slow, enjoy the scenery."
"Most of this trail appears to be retired railroad right of way. road crossings are guarded, or elevated bridges keeping bikes safe from heavy traffic. Well worth a trip. I spent 5 days riding 145 miles on these trails last week."
"This trail goes from Tarpon Springs to St.Pete with so many neat areas along the way. Palm Harbor, Dunedin, Crystal Beach, Wall Springs Park, just to name a few. There are plenty of places to stop along the way for breaks, something to eat or drink, or to see the monkeys or take a detour to Clearwater beach."
